Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

To remove DC26's hose, you first need to remove the post-filter cover, using a coin to undo the two blue-coloured catches. You can then release the hose bracket, and unclip the hose from the inlet:

Our Support guide will walk you through each step to help you check for and clear any blockages, so you might like to give this a try: http://www.dyson.com/support/dc26/dc26-multi-floor/diagnosis-root-menu/dc26filterwashvid/dc26filterwashvid/performance-flo-dc26-wand-suction

You might also want to give the filters a wash - in normal use we recommend washing these at least once a month. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them:

I hope this helps, but if you'd like some further guidance from our experts after giving these steps a try, you can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

SOURCE: Hose attachment not working well.

You don't say what model of Dyson you've got. It's listed on FixYa under DC14 Animal, but sometimes things get listed incorrectly. If it is a DC14, there are several places to check for blockages: 1. remove the wand and check it; 2. remove the hose and stretch it right out, check for blockage and possibly holes; 3. tip the machine forwards, remove the U bend and check in there; 4. just around from the U bend, on the right side, there is an airway inspection valve - remove it and have a look in there too. When replacing these bits, make sure they are clipped in place securely.
That about covers it. If yours isn't a DC14, or if this doesn't help, please post more details and I'll try again.

SOURCE: Dyson cleaner keeps cutting out, no blockage found, filter clean.

1. Check the on/off button these can also be troublesome and if you've stood on the cable once or twice you could have a break in the wire and it's shorting, check by turning on and wiggle cable around where it enters machine.
2. Faulty thermocouple, it is held in a white plastic housing screwed with one T15 torx screw to the motor housing. You could replace it but I just shorted mine with some wire and it hasn't failed since and more importantly not caught fire yet!

SOURCE: No suction on wand of Dyson DC14 Animal

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though the wand handle is blocked. To check this, remove the wand/hose from the machine as if you were going to use it to vacuum the stairs. Switch the machine on and test the suction at the top of the wand handle with your hand. If the suction from the wand is poor, remove the wand from the hose and test the suction again from the top of the hose. If the suction here is good, then you know the wand handle is blocked. If the suction is poor at the hose, you can remove the hose from the machine and clear any blockages here.

For the full blockage procedure please visit the support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards

Darran

My dyson DC26 power button has to be held down to work

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC26's on/off button. You should not have to continually hold this down for the machine to work, so it sounds as if your vacuum may need a repair. If you can get in touch with our experts directly we'd be happy to discuss your option, and we can also confirm whether or not a repair would be covered under your Dyson guarantee.

When you have your DC26 to hand, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

How to take apart dyson DC26

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sure we can help, but we would need some further information on exactly what part of the machine you're trying to disassemble.

Please note, dismantling the vacuum any further than is shown in the User guide can void your Dyson guarantee, so please don't attempt this. If you're having some difficulty with your DC26 we may be able to help, and can confirm if your machine is within our free parts and labour period.

You'd just need to give us a call so our experts can take some further details. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Carpet brush does not work on dc26

With this model, the most likely cause is that the brush has become clogged and won't spin freely. Unplug the unit and test spinning the brush bar by hand. If you really can't get spin, follow instructions like these (
Dyson DC26 DC35 DC36 DC38 DC44 DC45 DC47 Clearing the brush bar Official... that are straight from Dyson). Make sure you get the very ends fiber-free. It should spin better now.

Good Luck!

Disassemble dyson ball dc26 for moving

Hi Linda, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm happy to provide some further advice on how to dismantle your machine for transit. If possible, can you double-check the model number? DC26 is not a Dyson Ball model, and the directions would be different if you own another type of Dyson vacuum.

Once I have this information I will be in touch. Alternatively if you'd prefer to contact our experts directly, you can reach us by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

I can't open the filter housing on side of dyson dc26. i press the blue button, but nothing releases

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC26. To access the pre-motor filter, you may need to press the blue release catch very firmly - it can be a little stiff when the cleaner is new. You should find it becomes easier after a period of use. The video embedded below shows the correct way to wash the filters, which should be done at least once a month under normal use.

If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, please get in touch with us directly so one of our experts can provide further assistance. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack
