The instructions to do this are located in your User Manual under "Create Text file" and "Print text file." It is too lengthy to write here. Check your manual, or if you don't have the manual, you can download one for $10.00 at www.typewritermall.com
SOURCE: margins will not hold, have to keep resetting them.
Auto margins are permanently stored in the Swintec 8014S. If you set new margins within those margins, they should hold. If you set them outside of the auto margins you will have to use the MAR REL key to release the auto margins, and then set the new margins. All margins are set by pressing the Left or Right Margin Set keys.
These settings are stored in a memory circuit that is powered by a battery that is automatically charged when the typewriter power is on. If you still have trouble with the margins releasing after you turn off the machine, you can try one of the following:
(1) Keep your typewriter on for a couple of hours so the battery can recharge and then save your margin settings
(2) Replace the battery which may have died after all these years. You would need to bring your Swintec to a local dealer for the part and replacement service.
Hope this helps!
