If you have a 51 fault the machine must be a diverter valve model machine which has a water save function,check the diverter has nothing jammed in it and that the soleniod is ok with a multi meter if it passes both checks then it your main computer board

Our washer did the same but it was after I took the excess drain hose and pushed it into the drain in the wall. I thought it looked "more tidy" In doing so I created a siphon effect. Once I pulled the excess hose back out it was fine.

Error code 51 usually means a faulty diverter valve. Try and run a wash cycle, and observe the drain hose. Action - Check diverter valve continuity. If open circuit, replace diverter valve.
2. Motor Controller Board (drive circuitry blown).
Action - Replace Motor Controller Board
3. Diverter valve harness/connectors.
Action - Replace wiring harness
