Dracula 1&2 will not run on xp pro sp3 machine locks up after a few seconds all drivers etc updated and latest direct x and dropped res to 800x600

Visit your graphic card manufacturer website to get the latest drivers/software for it. If your graphic card is embedded within the motherboard - visit the motherboard website and download the appropriate driver.
The latest tools/updates for Windows can be download from the Windows Update website.

All aardvark interfaces will only work well with xp sp1 or earlier 2000/win98. Also, dont simply uninstall SP2, 3. You have to unistall/reinstall xp, xpsp1 and then if needed, go to the microsoft download pages and get all the updates prior to SP2. Pay attention and make sure you dont install SP2. Do all of this with the pci card pulled and all aardvark drivers uninstalled/deleted. Then install per aardvark's instructions. I dont recommend internet usage without SP2. You will be vulnerable to attacks even with the best protection.

Aardvark is only stable with xp sp1. 7.13 and 7.14 are the last drivers ever made. They were made prior to SP2
You will have to pull the pci card, delete all the aardvark drivers and reinstall windows. Then go to windows update and install everything up to SP2. The stop and turn off auto updates. Dont surf after that. Unplug any internet connections.

You are using the Dell Resource CD provided by the manufacturer. This CD may not work with new versions of Internet Explorer that come with SP3 installations (if you reinstalled from a Windows XP CD not provided by Dell or if you did the Microsoft SP3 update).
You're only solution would be to use your "Service Tag" number underneath, for laptops (or on the back/side for Desktops), of your computer and go to http://support.dell.com to download the drivers for your specific system. If this computer doesn't have the drivers for you to be able to go to the internet, use a second computer and go to the site. Then download the individual drivers listed (the latest dated drivers will work best).
Once you've downloaded mainly the Video, Network, Audio drivers, use a USB Flash drive (sometimes called USB Key, USB pen drive, USB drive, etc) and copy what's been downloaded onto it. Do not double click on the files while they're on the second computer.
Once on the machine with Windows XP SP3, double click on each downloaded file (1 at a time) and follow the on-screen insctructions to install the driver. You should be fine afterwards. :) Let us know how it goes, and rate us. :)

Common problem associated with XP SP3. After updating to SP3 there's a probem with CD/DVD recognition. Here's the Microsoft patch below:

you can use it with sp2. just make sure you have disabled any other sound cards on your computer in the hardware device manager. you can download the drivers and manual here...make sure you use the 7.13 version

it can be the problem with sp3

I just got a ZEN Micro 4GB player for free due to Firmware problem. This totally fixed the firmware issue. Windows XP PC with Media Player 10 and the latest driver and firmware from creative. Once I had all that I plugged in my player, let it recognize and then re-flashed to latest firmware. BAM now the play is working perfectly and I can sync music to it. Thanks for the fix.

Please update the BIOS to the latest version at support.dell.com. go to drivers and downloads and select your system. After updating the BIOS, download the latest video driver and restart the system. That should work. :)
