How do I remove top plastic round part from the rotor of the motor?

I need to take apart top plastic rotating part from the rotor of the motor. Is it screwed on, if yes, is it left or right hand tread. I need to take that plastic piece with the tread to Europe. I have same juicer over there on which that tread is damaged. Thanks, Mustafa

I have the same problem as dflynn 2204, mine got so bad it broke the plastic threads off the top of the blade stud as well as the plastic part of the blade into three pieces, it even cracked the motor case all the way to the bottom! I repaired the blade stud by drilling a #4 hole through it and the brass part of the motor shaft, threading it (#4-40 NC) and installing a hardened screw (after I super glued the blade screw back together). I repaired the blade by also super gluing it and machining a stainless ring and installing it on the plastic part of the blade with 3 screws place equidistant apart. I have used 3 times now & so far it seems to be a good repair

SOURCE: Damaged parts around the screw peg

I have the same problem but no such luck in resolving through customer service for free as suggested. I was told unless the purchaser purchased the extended warranty, the standard was 60 days only.

They were able to provide a complete new base for a tax total of $49.99 inclusive of shipping. This is not such a bad deal relative to purchasing a new one.

If I were to buy one new today though, I think I would research an alternative product since this design is flawed and they obviously are not interested in solving it and producing happy customers.

I am certain there are others that produce a good machine and will stand behind their designs. My internet research revealed many people suffering from this same problem.

I had the customer service rep review this page and thread with me while on the phone and he did not seem to care a whole lot. He further stated that the threaded white piece is not available as a replacement part; only the entire base as priced above.

So anyone researching to purchase a Jack Lalanne power juicer take note of how they stand behind faulty or flawed designs. They are not fully commited to the "outstanding last a life time product" like their marketing implys.

SOURCE: motor not running

The stainless bar has a safety cut off switch at both ends. You have to put it back the same way to make the outer switch work.

Juicer does not turn / rotate. Does this mean the motor is burnt out ?

It could mean burnt motor, but it could mean that it's simply got gunk in it, and it needs cleaning/lubricating. You'd have to take it apart to tell. A burnt motor has a very specific smell. If you take it apart, and there's no burnt smell, likely cleaning and lubricating will fix it.

When I disassemble for cleanup, the basket is very difficult to get out of the bucket part. Any tips?

The basket may have cut into the hex shape top of the spindle creating little grooves which
the basket locks into. If that's the case you have to replace the part, it's called the impeller.
If you can purchase one from Omega, use a needle nose pliers to remove the flat hold down
washer/nut on top of the motor spindle, pull off the old impeller and push on the new. Line
it up correctly it only installs in one position. The impeller is the flat rotating part that the
basket sits on. I did it on my Acme but had to push a little for them to sell me one.

I want to take it apart to clean it. How do I

You remove the top and back end. (you will need to put the silver handle down to do this) You then need the crescent tool to unhook the blade. After the blade comes out, the strainer and top level will come off with no further problem.
If for some reason you do not have the crescent tool, if there is someone to hold the strainer still, you can use two screwdrivers in the holes of the blade and press down and turn with those instead. I JUST had to do this when I realized mine came without the stinking tool!

The top white part connects to the motor. You have to buy the whole bottom part. It's not separate.
