Hi,

First make sure that all the cords are connected properly from the back of the CPU to your Monitor.I suggest you to unplug all the cords of the CPU and then plug them back in after 10min. and make sure they are all connected tightly.Next check if the power cord connected to the Monitor is attached tightly.

If you still face the problem then you will have to replace it with a new power cord whih connects the CPU to your Monitor.It is black in colour.

check that the data lead is secure at the computer and at the moniter,,,no display can be because the graphics card may be faulty

Could you please explain more about your problem. Are you able to get your monitor working or is it that it keeps on blinking without any display on screen.

If your CPU is ON and then your facing no display on the monitor then the problem could not be with the monitor instead it could be either a loose RAM. Also check that the cables attached to the CPU is not loose.

Yeah, I called Dell yesterday, and they said it was a problem that I could not fix myself. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but my monitor was still under warranty, so they shipped me a replacement right away. I already got it this morning. 

FYI: Their monitors carry a three year warranty. 

1. cpu problem. why because of there is no signal output from cpu to monitor. the led blinking means there is no vertical, horizontal signals from cpu to monitor.

2. your monitor connected to another system.

3. neck board dry points.

4. cheak the display cable. 13&14 pins are horizontal, vertical signals.1, 2, 3 pins , R G B , 6 ,7, 8 pins R G B ground ( coaxiler cable used , meshed wire is ground )

Hi Jeryl; Im sorry to have to te3ll you but when the power went out it sent a surge to the external monitor . This blew the monitor which in turn blew your video display. This is a not so uncommon problem with laptop displays. They are very fragile. Especially when it comes to power urges. The only way you can fix this is to replace the monitor. Even this may not fix the problem. It could be any one of a few thousand parts inside your laptop. Best advice would be to let your local repair shop do the repair. Hope this has helped.
