Neff Dishwasher won't drain

Integrated dishwasher about 6 years old. Doesn't drain after each cycle. I have cleaned and flushed the drain pipe, so believe that's OK. However I have noticed that the bottom arm sprays the water but doesn't spin. Is this something that can be fixed without the need for calling a repairman?

It appears that my dishwasher will fill and run but will not drain and then it just stops working altogether. I believe there may be a otor that runs the draining process and it may be bad. tThe dishwasher is at least 1o years old. Could this be the problem?

I've had this problem a couple of times with my dishwasher. In both cases, the cause was a shard of broken glass that had managed to get past the filters and jam itself underneath the impellor. Hard to see, but easy to fix. First ladle out the water.
Pull off the lower rotor arm, unscrew the filter and take out the filter bowl, tray and cylindrical filter. Get as much water as you can out of the filter cavity.
Then, using a Torx-20 driver, remove the screw holding the impellor cover and lift the cover off. (this is the small bit of plastic at the left end of the filter cavity.) Check whether the impellor can rotate freely by spinning it with your finger several times - if it jams or grinds, then there's probably something jammed under it. (It may seem to be fine at first, so do check thoroughly, as any debris can move around with the water flow and only jam occasionally) You may have to use a cocktail stick or similar to poke out anything that's stuck underneath.
Glass is a particular problem, since it's almost impossible to see when there's any water around (it's easy to cut yourself too!)

Anyway, that's worked twice for me now - and I didn't have to even move the machine out of its cupboard to fix it.
Hope that helps.

To solve a not draining out problem with our NEFF dishwasher we had to clear the waste pipe that had been blocked with fat poured into a sink. In case you are not familiar with this I have outlined what we did.

Symptoms: The pump is working and your dishwasher waste pipe is connected to a sink waste pipe.

What we did:

  1. Power OFF. We disconnected the power to the dishwasher.
  2. We disconnected the dishwasher waste pipe from the sink waste pipe (we had a bowl ready to catch any spillage).
  3. We checked for the dishwasher waste pipe for any blockages. There was some solidified fat that had been poured into the sink.
  4. We cleared out the fat out and took care not to pierce the waste pipe walls. We used a wooden spoon to ease the grease out and then a bit if hot water to remove any residue.
  5. We reconnected the waste pipe and made sure that it was properly in place.
  6. Power ON. We turned on dishwasher and (from the left) pressed key 1 and 3 together to perform a drain when we closed the door.
  7. We made sure the waste pipe is not leaking (turn off and fix if required) and that the machine was draining.
It took a few minutes to clear the blockage and worked first time.

Dishwasher filled and does not drain. I think the dial is faulty; however, how do I drain the water.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Neff dishwasher water pressure not high

Remove the bottom strainers plates and make sure that there is nothing obstructing the pipe or the pump or selector valve. If possible back flush through the outlet pipe and try draining the machine again before using it again.

Hi, I have a 10yr old Neff s5543 built-in dishwasher, it is has been working fine but recently has stopped fully draining. I have removed it from the housing and checked all pipe work is unblocked and...

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
Ok there are acouple of things that can be checked on this along with what you have already checked
Drain solenoid Beneath some dishwashers, there's a timer-activated drain solenoid (an electro-magnetic coil) that opens a drain valve, to drain the wash water through a hose and out to the house's plumbing waste system. If this is failing it will not allow the water to drain from the machine fully
Timer Dishwashers have a timer behind the main control panel at the front top of the dishwasher, or behind the lower access panel. It is either a mechanical device like a simple clock, or it's completely electronic with just a digital readout. The timer runs the dishwasher in a pre-determined pattern. It provides the electricity to all of the dishwasher components at the correct time, for the correct length of time.

The dishwasher is not cleaning properly, glasses look like they have a film on them, plates also do not look clean & the dishwasher has a foul smell.. like rotting food in it.. we use the top quality...

Check the main drain system connected to the dish washer hose pipe. Clean the junction if clogged. This smell might orginate from the pipe.

Check incoming water quality. If hard water is noticed, use softener attachments to the inlet.

Fill dish washer salt in the dispenser. Refer user guide. The salt will help softening the water to certain extent. Finally check whether rinse aid dispenser filled with the rinse aid liquid.
