Hai,
Buzzing can be caused by a bad ballast, colorwheel, or cooling fan... Nothing else makes a noise, unless it's comming from you speaker.

There is a problem on the deflection board (BP94-00501B). I have tried replacing the flyback, both convergence IC's and the horizontal output transistor without any luck. I finally bought the whole board from encompass parts for ~$120. Hope this helps.

I have a samsung hl-r5667w. it is about 4 years old. there was a loud pop and then no picture. I am told that it is a bulb but im not sure which one.

You TV is a DLP and only has one lamp.

Most likely. You should remove the lamp door, pull out the lamp, and inspect it. Look into the center of the lamp, does it look dark or swollen? Does it look chalky on only one side? Did it burst? If so, you definitely need a new lamp. I hope this helps.

I found the ballast HV wire going to lamp was burning on this one. For the loud hum it could be the color wheel.

TV won't come on ...

These newer sets are haveing power supply problems the capasitors all go bad. If the tv is out of warrnty it will cost a lot to repair.
