I would recommend composing your blog entry in Word or another offline text editor and then pasting it into the Blog when you have completed the entry.

That way you can spell check offline and you can save a copy offline as well. This should save you loosing your entries due to the site timing out.

This often happens when the server has set a connection timeout that is shorter than the amount of time it takes to compose your response.
I second Rupert Russel's answer as it will provide you with spell checking, formatting and the time needed for a thoughful reply.
Just press F5 to refresh the page then copy and paste.

I second the remark about updating your Operating System.
A very handy solution is using Linux Mint. This is an easy Linux for New users, and if you take a download with xfce as desktop it night even run on your old computer.
Download the xfce edition.
This is an iso file that has to be burned to a dvd. Then you can start the computer with it. First adjust the bios to start from dvd as first device.

First off, update your O.S. Win 98 hasn't been supported for years. Secondly, you might have connection problems to their server. Has there been any problems with your ISP?

I was writing a blog to a newspaper website, when part of the way through the blog the website dropped out, I lost what I had written. This has happened on numeerous occassions

My best suggestion is call the newspaper that you were blogging to and ask them if there's a problem with the web site. Other than that, make sure your virus protection is completely and totally up to date. A lot of major newspaper companies have viruses attached to their web sites (that they don't know about) so make sure you have your spyware and anti virus protection completely updated.

How to write a good Blog Post

I love writing. I am a blogger at Intro Into Blog and I constantly write new and interesting tips at this website.
I am also running a Facebook Website about this blog.
When posting on Facebook, you should always write your own summary about the blog post. Make it more interesting so people can click it.
Also choose carefully a nice image.
If the image is attractive, more people will click it.
So, it's up to you :)

Not a big deal, but when I do a crossword puzzle on my local newspaper's website, the puzzle history keeps erasing each time I access it. Is there a way to tell if it's in my computer, or their website?
