My Midea washer spins violently in spin cycle. Please help!

It sounds like there may be an issue with the balance of your washer. When a washer is out of balance, it can spin violently and cause the machine to reset. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the washer is level: Use a spirit level to check if the washer is level. If it is not, adjust the legs until it is.
  2. Distribute the load evenly: Make sure the load inside the washer is distributed evenly. This will help to keep the washer balanced during the spin cycle.
  3. Check for foreign objects: Make sure there are no foreign objects in the drum or the drum's seal, which may cause the washer to vibrate.
  4. Check the suspension: Inspect the suspension system, which supports the drum and keeps it in balance. If the suspension is damaged or worn out, it will need to be replaced.
If the problem persists, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance.

My GE washer GTW460NMKwww, the drum will not balance itself when going into final spine cycle.

Are the clothes evenly distributed inside the drum and the washer not overloaded? The drum is not self balancing, you must take care when loading it to even the weight distribution

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. As you already know, that is the reason that it is doing it. You need to check the bottom legs of the washer and make sure none are damaged. Also, I would advise you to get a level tool. By doing this, you will know where the balance is off at. You can add wood slits under the legs to balance them off. Once it is level, you should be good to go.

My washer bangs and goes off balance in the spin cycle. It has been leveled and is not off balance.

Without knowing the type of washing machine that you are using I can tell you generally that:
First make sure that the washer is level. There should be leveling legs on the machine that you can screw or unscrew to level it.
And that there are several causes of this problem.

1. Load is too large for the machine. Be sure not to stuff the washer full. The items should have room to move around.
2. Items being washed are not of similar weight so that they unbalance easily (Wash jeans with jeans/knits with knits/towels with towels)
3. Items are poorly loaded (in a top loader). Distribute the items well.
4. Front loading washers on platforms with drawers, etc. are very prone to this problem. We finally took our off the drawer/ platforms and the problem went away. After a couple of service calls that helped not at all.
5. Front loaders sometimes have this problem if they are installed on a "soft floor" such as Laminate flooring. You can help this by placing a thick rubber-backed rug or a piece of plywood underneath your machine.

These are the solutions that I have learned from my own experience. I hope that these ideas help you.

I have overloaded the washing machine and now it is off balance and i need to know how to fix it

Kenmore top loaders are equipped with an auto-leveling system on the back two feet of the washer. Typically, what happens when the washer becomes off-balance it's a simple matter of the auto-leveler needing to be readjusted. This is a very simple process that requires no special tools. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3868923-level_whirlpool_top_loading_washer

The rear auto-leveler should be periodically checked from time to time to ensure the washer maintains level. Any excessive vibration may cause the rear of the washer to become mal-adjusted. This is normal. Once the rear feet are properly leveled, make sure the front feet are adjusted so that the washer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Use a level across the top of the washer cabinet (NOT the lid! The lid on most washers is slightly bowed.) to check.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Every time my machine starts to spin faster it starts making a very loud banging noise

One cause could be that the washer is not levelled evenly on all sides. You can get yourself a water level" u get all shapes & sizes" preferably a small circular one place it on top of the washer make sure it is centred, then level or balance the washer. Most washers have a screw type stands where you can raise or lower it functions just like a screw.

Before you start with the legs, when water level placed on the washer, look to see where the bubble is? If it is in the centre then your washer is levelled, indicating that something is loose in the washer, but 9 out of 10 the washer is not levelled.

My Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 washer is out of balance and bangs like crazy during the spin cycle. What can I do to repair it myself

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured top loader (such as your Kenmore), it could simply be off level. The rear feet on these washer have an auto-leveling mechanism that you can easily reset yourself. Just follow these steps:

1. With the wash tub empty, open the washer lid and grasp the rim of the tub opening (do not grab the tub).

2. Now place one of your feet at the base of the washer along the front of the washer to keep it from moving.

3. Now pull the washer towards you so the rear feet lift off the floor. You should hear a clicking sound as the rear feet auto-level.

4. Carefully set the washer back down (do not slam it) and the rear of the washer should now be level.

Using a level, check the washer front to back and side to side to make sure it is level in all directions.

If you need to adjust the washer washer front feet, carefully lift the front of the washer and turn the feet to either adjust them up or down. The slightest difference can cause excessive vibration on the final spin. Check by placing your hands at opposite corners on top of the washer (diagonally - one on the rear, one on the front) and try rocking the washer to see if it moves. If the washer wobbles, you need to readjust.

If you still have problems after checking the level of the washer, please post back and let me know. The problem could also be related to balance spring issues. I hope this helps you.

My Maytag Ensignia washer is not spinning well. It bangs side to side with even the smallest loads. It seems like something is loose. Is this something I can fix myself or do I need a repair mans help....

Try leveling the washer... If the washer is level, then don't wrap the clothes around the agitator...drop the clothes straight in, on top of each other evenly around the agitator. The Ensignia washer has a Dual action agitator... That means the clothes roll over them selves, instead of moving side to side, as with a traditional agitator. wrapping the clothes around the agitator will cause the load to be un balanced and then cause the "banging" noise... this should take care of the problem...
