"I tried to install another internal HDD + another 256 RAM (both of them are used) to my computer, operating XP with an ASUS P5P800S motherboard. When I ran the system, the new device was found by the sys. but not shown on My Computer Page, so I turned the sys. off and took both items off and turned on the sys. no BEEP SOUND, NO MONITOR , NO SYS. BOOTED, while the CPU fan runs with the motherboard green light lit and both CD Drivers lights coming on. I checked all installed components for any physical defect, replaced almost all cables and ribbons. Pulled the battery out and reinstalled, reset the CMOS by jumper, checked CPU warming up by not installing the fan for a few seconds, replaced the RAM, checked the monitor, but no lucky. The earliest response would be greatly appreciated. Hoss"

The hard drive would not show up until you initialize it in the control panel. With everything off the motherboard you should get some post beep. Put the ram back and try again, the next thing to install is the video to see if there is any indication of function. Keep adding things back. If there is no post beep with just the motherboard then you need to test the PSU and if it is OK then CPU or motherboard is bad.

Testimonial: "thanks Brad Is there any way to check the PSU for proper function, please keep in mind , the green light on mother board is lit on , the CPU fan runs prefect and by disconnecting the monitor socket from the MB the Disconnected Cable Signal appeared on the monitor. I'd like to have your kindly recommendations, Hoss"

My pc run too slow. (p4vp-mx) with 256 mb of ram os.win xp and many programs are instaled. my quetion is: what is the maximum ram should I instal for this motherboard? and what else can I do to max....

This motherboard can support up to 2 GIG of RAM and upgrading the RAM will definitely increase the speed of your computer, to make faster also better remove some program that you don't use to free some resources on your computer and do a defrag on your computer.

Why my mother boarb ASUS P5P800S did not run for DDR 400 I want computer more faster my DDR I used now is only 256

hi, actually that 400 is not the ram speed. its the ram frequency. DDR ram comes in 3 types of frequency. one is 333hz and another is 400hz. normally people use 400hz. you should not put two kinds of RAM modules with different frequency at same time.
make sure. all the rams you are using are of same speed and same frequency. example use 256 of 400hz with 256 of 400hz. this must help. else revert back to us. thank you sweet rascal

I have a computer with an intel al440lx motherboard, pentium 2 processor w/mmx, ATI rage 3d graphics card ,creative sound blaster pci sound card, 7GB quantum HDD and 40GB seagate HDD and 1.024 GB SDRAM...

Hi,
This is not a software problem. The problem lies in the motherboard.

The motherboard which you are using is an AL440LX motherboard which supports a maximum of 384MB of RAM. The computer will not recognize any more RAM. In order to use 384MB, you will have to add a 128MB RAM along with the 256MB already present and not any more !!
This is the solution !!
