When printing printer start up and when document goes thru the feeder the printer stops
Why do you want to locate the fuse? If the fuse is bad your whole unit might not work at all. It sounds more like a pull-through-paper issue; something is making the printer stop in mid-feeding because it senses that something is wrong with either what is being printed on, or the feeder mechanics need adjustment.
SOURCE: Document feeder works for printing but not for scanning
Hi, When you had the doucment feed jam were you able to clean or remove any paper that might be blocking the paper to be scanned? It sounds like there is paper still in the document feeder , I would open the DF and check very closely to make sure no paper is in the way!Good Luck!
SOURCE: cover door for document feeder not closed
possible cause is that you have broken the DF door tail that senses the door closed. Check by opening the cover you should see a slit with either a switch in there or a light sensor. Push the switch down using small flat blade screw driver or if light sensor place a folded piece of paper in the gap.
Either one should then recognize that the door is closed.
Hope this can help and if this does work will need to replace the door.
SOURCE: keeps asking to load original in document feeder
This has a happy ending. But first, the obligatory narrative:
The HP site has advice on how to deal with a document feeder that doesn't detect your document. It doesn't talk about the opposite problem, which is what molecular is describing. I had the identical problem yesterday. I'd place the original on the glass and it kept demanding that I put the original in the feeder. So I got into a chat session with the HP technician. Her advice, (based on the possibility that a power surge had created the problem) unplug from everything, restart, and retry. The problem persisted. I told her so. She broke the connection. Nice.
So here is how I fixed it. Using the Setup button>Tools>3. Restore factory defaults, I returned the device to its factory settings. I put the original on the glass and it made the copy without a problem.
Here is a pure speculation. There are at least two ways to enter settings related to two-sided copying. I had used one to enter the settings (two-sided original to two-sided copy, as it happens) and later tried to use another button to change those settings. I noticed the 2-sided settings did not change. I believe the feeder is the default for two-sided copying. So when the system failed to clear the settings, it failed to clear the default. Once I returned all settings to the factory originals, the problem disappeared.

I'm sure this will solve your issue.
all the best.
SOURCE: document feeder cover
I brought my HP Officejet Pro back to Best Buy where I purchased it, and they sent it to HP, where it was covered and fixed under warranty, and the problem was completely solved.
SO, it turns out that this was a common manufacturing defect, which HP has now determined how to fix.
By the way, the "document feeder cover" is the top left cover above the place where a stack of paper may be fed in. It has two little plastic feet, which are supposed to be detected by the unit. The unit was malfunctioning by not detecting the plastic feet when the cover was indeed closed.
It has been many months since HP has fixed the machine and the document feeder cover error has never re-appeared.
