When I turn my machine on, after a couple of seconds I get the following error code appears on the screen: "Raise presser foot and needle bar, then turn power switch back on." This message occurs whether the presser foot and needle bar are up or down. Also, when I press the foot pedal, the needle will go down, but not come back up. Please, anyone ever have this problem, and how do I fix it?
Unfortunately you are probably not going to be able to fix this.
It needs a sensor adjusted (probably), or a component replaced.
Testimonial: "SewTechWayne, can you explain how to adjust a sensor? My husband is a very experienced electrically/mechanically (aircraft and aircraft components expert) so he should be able to adjust or repair as needed."
SOURCE: Janome 9000 willl not work when turned on
My Janome 9000 has always done that. I can prevent it by raising the needle when I first start the machine, getting it to sew quickly or raising the needle and letting the machine sit for a few minutes. I think my computer wants to warm up a minute. As you can see I.m not a technical person but it works for me.

there is a clutch operated by foot pedal. if the clutch is continuously engaged then it will run own its own. so adjust clutch lever.
