The reason probably is because all broadcast TV is digital, and the em-55 tuner is set for analog channels. It cannot receive today's broadcasts "thru the air" because channel 2 for example is not broadcast, rather channel 2.1, 2.2, etc.

You can use the signal with a new TV, but when you turn ON the em-55, it inserts channel 3.
Most all TV here has what I call sidebands, and some have as many as 11, so the tv can be set for 3.1, or 3.2 or 3.3.

Even if you have a digital-to-analog device, the em-55 will not receive any .1, .2, .3, .4 and so on. I verified this recently reconnecting my old antenna to the converter then to several VCR's and DVD players.

Turn off the em-55, and the dot channels pass through the RF connectors..
Some DISH, cable direct TV receivers convert the signal to ch 3.

I don't understand the manual! How do you get any channels tuned in on the Technika LCD19-910

on all tvs there is a menu pannel find the menu button on the remote or tv could also be called setup button look for channel option or antena cable option (no on most of the new tvs it is an auto scan) and select that option it will scan throught the channels and auto add the ones that get reception say if ur using an antena

if u are trying to hook up a cable box or sat box through the antena coail wire at the same time u can not have them on so to scan for antena channels turn off the sat recver and cable box scan for channels because the sat box and cable box destors the singnal when on the same time with the antena u will proble have to go back into the main menu where yu selected the channels and manualy add channel 3 or 4 which is what runs the sat/cable box if ur using the antena hookup on the tv

if u are hooking the sat/cable box or dvd player to red gren blue or yellow white red hook up's they will be under a diffrent source chanel which u can usaly get to by hitting the input or source button on the remote

I have dynex flat screen hdtv, need to hook up jvc dual dvd-vcr recorder to it need direction pls have no knowledge of hooking up this diagram would also be great

  • find the video input 1 in the back of the tv (this video connector yellow + audio red **audio right channel and white left channel) is known as female RCA conector)
  • get a set of rca wires **known as male RCA*** (yellow red and white)
  • find the RCA female conectors Yellow red and white in the DVD call it video (and audio) output
Connect sets accordingly the TV video input yellow conector with video output yellow with the set of wires RCA yellow. Do the same with audio.

  1. second part of this talking is to find and cable splitter (usually three output and one input
  2. find TWO coax cables (this cable is usually a black wire with a connector each side this fits perfectly in the antena input of the tv)
Now connect your cable into the splitter (input) and your two cables in each output, then send one of them into the TV antena conector and another to the DVD coax input.

To watch your TV only select any regualr channel as you do it.
And to record and actually see Your DVD/tape and what you record also. You have to select in your remote control the video 1

ones you get custome to this configuration you can record a channel and at the ssame time watch any second channel selected in the tv.

I hope was clear.

How to hook up vcr and dvd together ?

|DVD| -> |VCR| -> |TV|

1. Connect your VCR to your TV. (Using Antena cable or RCA cables.)

2. From your DVD player, choose the AUDIO VIDEO OUT. Then, connect that to your VCR's LINE IN jacks.

(*)Your DVD player has 3 jacks coming out. Yellow-video, White- Audio Left and Red- Audio Right.
If you VCR does not have the RED jack. Go to a radio shack and tell on of the sales person taht you need to connect 2 RCA audio outs to 1 RCA audio in. (He/ She will give you a "2RCA Male to 1RCA Female" splitter)

3. Finally, play your DVD, put your VCR channel in TV and most important select the LINE channel in your VCR. (This channal may called as L1, Line,... etc)

You should be seeing the DVD in your TV now.

If you want to play the VCR, just put the casset and play.

Important- The VCR needs to be powered on in order to the DVD signals to go to the TV.

Cheers!!!!

Problems hooking it to the television

The colored jacks match up to the jacks on tv. Tv must be turned to AV channel, Or input channel. The ports they are plugged into should have a channel printed by them.
If you are hooking it up through a VCR it is the same. Whatever it is hooked up to has to be on the right channel.
Channels are usually: AV or Input

Connecting dtv box to vcr to dvd to the tv

you can hook the cable box into the vcr and then out of the vcr into the spliter which will turn your tv red/white/yellow signel input into two inputs( you can get this at most radio shacks for about $7.00 dollors) this leaves you with one more input for the dvd player
