Kindly follow the steps listed below to do so:

  1. Go to Apps through Home screen.
  2. Tap Messaging.
  3. Tap the Menu key.
  4. On pop up menu select Settings.
  5. Scroll to Notification settings section then tap Message alert repetition.
  6. Here you can see three options available on pop up menu. They are:
    • Once: Choose this option if you want your phone ring the tone just once when receiving an incoming messages.
    • Every 2 minutes: Choose this option if you want your phone ring the tone every 2 minutes until you open the message.
    • every 10 minutes: Choose this option if you want your phone ring the tone every 10 minutes until you open the message.
  7. Tap the required message alert repetition option you wish to use. When the dot indicator next to the option shows green means the option is selected.
  8. Tap Home button to return to the standby mode.

By adjusting message alert repetition just once or more than once, now your phone will notify you when receiving new message and repeating the tone according to the settings you've just done. So, what's the option you use on your phone?

Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 - text notification only sounds once when I receive a text from someone. If I reply and they reply to me, I receive the text, but no notification.

If you ask for notification, maybe. I never understood that, & seldom pay attention, since I text only when absolutely necessary. What does Samsung manual say???? Does anyone keep their manuals???

Can't hear sound for text message

Go into your settings menu and check your sound levels.
Settings - Sound.
Most Android phones have separate volume levels for notifications, music, and calls. Chances are your notification volume is turned all the way down.

How come the ding goes away on messenger. This is on a I phone 5

Marie, are you talking about the Text Messenger or Facebook Messenger? If it is the Text Messenger, try going to Settings -> Notifications -> Message. Once there, check if the "Notification Sound" is shown as set to "None". If so, click there and chose the ding you want. If you're looking for a solution to the Facebook Messenger, go to Settings -> Notifications -> and scroll down until you find the Facebook Messenger icon. Click on it and check if your notification is setup correctly as: Notification: On; Sounds: On. You can also check if the "Do Not Disturb" feature is disabled - this will put your phone to just ignore any income call, text, or notifications in general. Please follow the following link for more details about this feature. http://www.imore.com/how-to-setup-use-do-not-disturb-iphone-ipad

How do I set my samsung S111 to repeat the notification of an incoming text until I answer it?

Click on "messging" like you're about to read a text, then click on left hand side and a few options should come up, click on the "settings", scroll down until you find the "notification settings", then click on "message alert repetition", you should be able to change it to either "once, every 2 minutes or every 10 minutes"... hope that helped

My notification music on my new Samsung galaxy s5 rings every 5 minutes. I only want notification on my emails and texts. What do I do? I've set up notification on my messages and it shows what I've...

There are a few different ways to adjust your notifications on the phone. This is difficult to answer because it depends on which app. Sometimes there are settings within the app itself so you can decide which things are going to notify you and also what the ringtone will be. In other cases you have to go into the settings for the phone and then applications and manage applications through there. It'll take a little experimentation to find the settings for each of your apps.

TEXT ALERT

I use SMS Popup (from the Play Store) for repeating text message reminders. It has other functions, but I primarily use the 'reminder' options. I'm not sure if you could (or should) do 5 to 10 second intervals as it would probably kill your battery. I think that 1 minute is the minimum. I guess you could also use a notification sound that is longer. You could even record your own. I once recorded myself coughing and used it as the notification.

  • Select "Settings"
  • Scroll down the page until you see "Notifications"
