I have a Belkin N wireless router. It's all set up but it shows as not being secured. How do I secure it? Model F5D8233-4v3

Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I have a belkin F5D8233-4V3. I never had it secured before. Then I made my old pc wireless and it hooked up to my b elkin and it works fine. Trouble is now it appears to be secured and I cant access it...

The security settings ie. encryption is configured in the Belkin wireless settings. You then configured your old wireless card in you computer with these settings so it can connect to the Belkin.
I suggest you also apply these same settings to the wireless cards in your laptops.
To make your wireless network secure from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

I want to make my broadband secured.

The model that you have listed is not a wireless router, so if it isn't, the only way people could be connecting is if they are physically connected to your router. If you do have a wireless router, please list the correct the model number.

Wont connect to belkin 54g with wpa security applied

Please try using Wireless 'G' mode only in the router. Also, try using 'TKIP' and not TKIP+AES for encryption.

Please rate this solution, if it works for you.

Belkin Modem Router not connecting to desktop

The wireless security on your router might be enabled.

1. In the address bar of your Internet browser, type "192.168.2.1". Then press the "Enter" key.

2. It will prompt for a password to access the Router’s Web-Based Advanced User Interface. By default the password is blank.

3. Go to Security, then Wireless.
- Check the wireless security settings, this should match the settings on your wireless computer.

4. On the wireless computer, you should detect SSID and if wireless security is enabled, connect to it with the correct security keys.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Connecting to secure network

when enabling wireless security the router and adapter must be both be configured and configured in a fashion that both support. If you need help provide confirmation of your wireless router's manufacturer and model and the same information for any wireless adapters or computers with built-in wireless adapters to be wirelessly connected.

This will allow us to determine the common security options for all wireless devices you have.
