The relay contacts are worn. Replace the relay first. If the condition is the same , look at the motor's safety overload device.

SOURCE: Clicking sound - door doesn't open or close

Turn off the breaker for the unit. Set up a good ladder, change the bulb. Release the opener from the door, turn the breaker on, and try the opener while it is disconnected from the door. If it works, give the chain a good spray of wd40, followed by a good spray of chain lube or spray grease. Operate the motor back and forth, spray grease wherever the chain attachment rides the bar. Once it is working good and free, try to connect it to the door and test it. If it has a problem, check your door rollers and hardware.

There is a very good possibility you have a bad logic board. If you had more than one car remote and they both acted the same it would be definite.

Sounds like you have a bad start capacitor. It sits next to the motor and is about the diameter of a silver dollar and about 5 inches long. You can get one at any good door opener service company.

Why does my Digidor2 garage door motor occasionally stops working and then starts again after 20 or 30 minutes? What is the cause and can it be rectified to restart sooner? Is there a re-set button?

The motor may be overheating. There is a centrifugal switch inside the motor that switches the start capacitor in and out of the start winding in the motor. If this switch fails the motor draws excessive current thru the run winding and it will cause it to get hot quickly.

Can the unit overheat from over use. I was adjusting travel when the door stopped and the drive unit just clicked when trying to operate from the controls. Waited 10 minutes and opener worked ok.

Most garage openers are designed to open and close the door occasionally, not to run the motor continuously.

There likely is an overheat sensor that shuts power off if the motor gets too hot.

Avanti garage door not working ??? is there a repair manual

A lot of manuals are on line in a pdf file. However the first thing to check is the safety lights at the bottom of the door, They need to be lined up.

I press the button to close the door and i hear a click at the motor and nothing happens

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so, loosen the chain enough to take the strain off the chain and run the motor until the door is closed. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit. Turn this 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

Opener opened fine from the wall and stopped

Check to see if the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. If so, loosen the chain enough to ease the tension on the trolley and run the motor until the door closes. While the door is closed locate the 'up limit' control on the side of the motor unit and turn it 2 complete turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Tighten the chain.

I don't know what knob you are referring to but if you have the cover off the motor unit you should be able to see the drive gear. It will be obvious if it is not turning when the motor runs. Could be you are hearing the clicking of a relay. If so remove the logic board and look for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board.

I have a 1995 Sear garage door opener that stopped working

The trolley (the part that moves back and forth and is connected to your door) of your opener is most likely jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. You can remove the bolt or loosen the chain until your unit will run. Once the door is closed find the 'up limit' on the side of the motor unit and turn it about 3 turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Now replace the bolt or tighten the chain. Whichever you first did.

Garage door opener

Pop open the cover and check for loose wiring. Also check to see if the capacitor is still good that powers the motor.
