Sounds like fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time

SOURCE: IR reciever in my Magnavox 15MF400T/37 does not respond to the remote.

You basically have to take the tv apart backward to get to the front. Start with the back panel unscrew all the screws. Then you will see the internals. IR sensor should be botton left side if you looking down on it.

SOURCE: Remote Stopped Working

It is possible the IR sensor is bad. Most of the time if it is a remote issue, the light on the remote will not light up. Does the remote that came with tv still control any functions? I would try the remote that came with the tv, and then go from there, but it sounds like your IR sensor has gone out on you.

Just got a new Samsung Flat screen today and am new technology challenged. Cannot sleep because the red light is still on on the tv set, read the instructions, and would this red light mean that it is in standby mode? Do I unplug the tv from the wall? I am getting very sleepy.

Hello
Philips universal remote control cannot be synchronised with Apex Digital TV. There is no code for Apex with it. There are very rare remote controls which have codes with Apex Digital. Comcast On Demand Custom DVR 3-Device Universal Remote Control is one amoung them. Codes for Apex Digital Tv; with this remote are:
0748, 0765, 0767
Buy this one. It can be sychronised with most of the present devices. OK.

Apex tv remote LD220RM just stop working

It might be the IR board on the front panel, or it could be a main board issue. The best thing to do is probably try a new remote first, which you can purchase a generic one at Walmart, punch the tv code into the remote and try it. If that doesn't work, the problem lies with either the IR or main board.

Let me know how it goes

Remote stopped working Got new remote and it

It can be the IR remote receiver board inside the TV. Is the new remote setup for VIZIO TV?
Old VIZIO remote is bad for sure?
Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals.

My apex digital converter's remote no longer works. Therefore I have no TV picture because the apex wants to be re-installed due to loss of electricity temporarily.

Remotes are pretty simple things to fix. a few problems, tests and fixes.
1) test remote closer to device - if it works then replace batteries.
2) If some buttons fail to work that used to work - disassemble and clean muck off board and rubber contact pad.
3) remote will not work at all at any distance - use camera on phone to see IR led operation when pushing buttons on remote - could be batteries, IR led failure or ceramic resonator failure - you need test equipment to faultfind.

The only parts that tend to fail on a remote are batteries, IR LED, Ceramic resonator, and dirty/wet board/rubber contact pads
