This because it requires a Windows 8.1 compatible driver and it cannot find one.

You need to find the manufacturers website and see if they have an updated driver.

SOURCE: I have a Lenovo Y430 notebook and it was working

After making sure that the status of network adapters in the device manager showed enabled, I tried using the Fn+F5 key on my keypad. The Fn+F5 key showed my WiFi status as disabled inspite of the Wifi toggle switch on the front of the laptop in the "on" position. So I enabled it and the WiFi led started glowing and I was able to access the internet through WiFi connection

SOURCE: My asus n61j won't connect to the Internet using internal adapter

Hi there, I just bought a new Asus NJ series, and all of a sudden my wireless dissapeared! I FOUND THE SULOTION, well, I hope it works for you. Look on the left side of your laptop, right at the front left side is a switch/button. I think I accidentally switched it of, but now everything is working fine!

How can i us wlan or wifi on my desktop

Most older desktop motherboards are not set up with Wi-Fi capability, the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to add Wi-Fi to your desktop is to purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

I've used the Panda Wi-Fi adapters (Available online, such as Amazon.com) or pretty much any computer store).

Examples:
Amazon com Panda 300Mbps Wireless USB Adapter Windows Vista 7 8 8 1 10...

Amazon com Panda Ultra 150Mbps Wireless USB Adapter Windows XP Vista 7 8 8...

An alternative would be to purchase a wireless NIC card to install into your Desktop PC. You would have to examine your PC to determine what form factor and technology to purchase that would be compatible with your motherboard and available expansion card slots.

Ihave a dv6000 laptop and and it has a 1394 net adapter but i can't connect to internet what must i do to connect

The 1394 Net adapter that you see in the Device Manager is simply the Firewire Controller....similar to the USB controller. It is not the same as WIFI or have anything to do with Internet connections...UNLESS you obtain a Firewire network adapter dongle and install it. Then you can connect to the Internet in the same manner as WIFI. The dv6000 DOES have WIFI, as well as a 10.100 Fast Ethernet cable connection that can be used to connect to the Internet.

How do I get (Sabrent NT-WGHU) this wireless usb adapter to work on windows 8.!?

As far as I can tell it should use universal wifi drivers that are built into Windows 7 and above. That said I suspect you may need specific drivers for Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 to make it work correctly. You'll also have to choose it as your main wifi connection once installed over any internal wifi your computer may have. You can find the drivers by searching NT-WGHU at the linked url below. Make sure you click the "windows" banner to get the appropriate driver. http://www.sabrent.com/downloads.php

Problems with WiFi netgear WNDA3100

the drivers should be installed in windows 7 by default, their so called "smart wizard" has some compatibility issues with windows 7, I get it to load up and it will shut down or glitch out. What I did was uninstall the downloaded driver and use the default windows drivers, flipped the switch off to my built in G wifi adapter and the netgear automatically kicked in and took over as the default wireless adapter.

Basic Installation

Hi,

You need to use the D-Link USB WiFi Utility and manually configure the WiFi Network. Sometimes the built-in Windows WiFi Configuration doesn't work well with some USB WiFi and/or when no WEP/WPA security installed.  You may need to manually enter the SSID, "Open" encryption and "Disabled or "Not USed" security settings.

Good luck and kind regards.
