Casio PCR T500. Does anyone know to set up tax so that: - If cash sale, there is no tax added - If card sale (Debit/Credit), I can add tax at once to all sale items (or after subtotal) Thank you

You don't do it at a dept level, you change it at the payment level.
Go into programming and choose key programming. Change the taxable status of the cash and other payment keys depending upon the desired status.

How to do percentage for sale tax

It depends on your jurisdiction and your calculator.

For example, I am in Ontario where the Harmonized Sales Tax is 13%.

To calculate the HST, you multiply the amount by 13/100 or 0.13. On some calculators, you can hit 13 then the percent key and it divides the number by 100.

To calculate the total including tax, add a 1 in front of the decimal. With 13% HST, you would use 1.13. So for a purchase of $100, you would get $113.

Good luck.

My total sale is $101.65. I collected 6.25% sales tax. What is the formula to find out the portion of the total is the sales tax total?

Partly this is a matter of interpretation. If $101.65 is seen as 100% then sales tax is
$101.65 x 6.25 / 100 = $6.35

However there is a flaw in this. The remainder (the sale price) is
$101.65 - $6.35 = $95.30

So what was the sales tax on this remainder?
6.35 / 95.30 x 100 = 6.67%........too much

So we should regard the $ total as 106.25% not 100%. Then the amount which was sales tax is really
$101.65 x 6.25 / 106.25 = $5.98

How do i add % to money like a item is 22.5 and sails tax is 7% is it like 22.50 x7% or + 7% how do i do this

Sales tax is simply a digital factor of a dollar, so 7% would be 7 cents on each dollar. the way to figure 7% sales tax on $22.50 would be: $22.50 X 0.07 = $1.58 for a total of $24.08.

  • Press 0 and press ca/amt tend button
  • Press 0125 and press ca/amt tend button *this is for rounding/tax table code not positive on this one but looks like the right entry for "add on" tax

Help please

hi lilwallace;
The federal excise tax of 8% on the round trip ticket is calculated by multiplying 8% times the price of the ticket. Remember 8% is written as .08 when we multiply.
$832 times .08 = $66.56 is the excise tax

$832 times .06 = $49.92 is the sales tax

Now we just add the ticket price plus the excise tax and the sales tax and we get $832 + $66.56 + $49.92 = $948.44

Hope this helps Loringh PS Please leave a rating for me.. Thanks

Casio Register 265P - Doubling Tax in Sales Total

Hi.
That could be tricky. we will need to go through the tax setup in your machine.

My first questions are:

1. Does it happen on all department (item buttons)?
2. Does it happen no matter what payment method you use (cash, check, credit)?
3. When you push Subtotal, does it show the wrong amount then, or only when you press a payment type to open the drawer?
