How to record and play back

Just follow instructions of masnual to set your MP3 player in "record" mode.
Anything you record is saved in a folder. To play back, select thet particular folser and play bach what you recorded.
Normally MP3 recorders use some kind of "DATE" notation, indicating in filename the date and time you made the recording.

Here is the owner's manual for your DVD machine. This is a VHS recorder but not a DVD recorder. To record VHS tapes to DVDs, you will need a DVD recorder.
You will plug the yellow video out connector on the VHS to the yellow 'Video in' connector on the DVD Recorder. Do the same for the red and white audio connections, out on the VHS, IN on the DVD Recorder. Connect your TV to the DVD recorder so you can see the picture you are recording.

Can you record a playing vhs video to a dvd on sharp dv rw250?

Yes, you can do this if you have a VCR that has a channel on the VHS part of the unit that shows your DVD screen (see instruction manual for better explanation). The Sharp unit that you have might have this feature, if not then look at your instruction manual for how to hook up the VCR part of your unit to an external DVD player. Good luck to you!

When recording it shows that it is recording but we can't see anything. If we play back what we think we might have recorded we can only hear the sound but not see anything.

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.

IMPORTANT: If additional model-specific instructions are needed to perform any of the steps below, refer to the operating instructions of the camcorder. The instruction manual is available in the Manuals/Specs/Warranty section of the Sony eSupport Web site.
  1. Ensure a fully-charged battery is inserted or connect the AC power adapter.
  2. Turn the camera on to the VTR or PLAYBACK mode.
  3. Insert a cassette tape with recorded video into the camcorder.
  4. Ensure the cassette tape is rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  5. Begin playing the cassette tape.
  6. If your camcorder has an LCD screen, try adjusting the brightness or contrast.
  7. If there is still no picture on the LCD or viewfinder, reset the camcorder to factory specifications

Machine appears to record per instruction manual but will not play anything back and the instruction manual includes NOTHING on playback except to hit STOP when we're through recording, back up to the...

it appears to be recording but is it really?
when you are recording there are two levels you should see moving up and down on the screen. the input volume and the recording volume per track. dont forget to arm the track. tascam has a silly way to arm the track on some of there unit. its combination of buttons. something like hold down the record button and press the track arm button then release both. when youre ready to record press play.

Downloading instructions Delphi SKYFi3 unit

You can't download Xm programming, like you can from itunes, where you get a song in 3 or 4 seconds.
Do you mean record music? You must record realtime, either while listening or while the unit is idle in its cradle.
It's easy. while listening to the radio in the cradle (press mode repeatedly to get to Live XM mode), then press the center (play/pause) button.  the menu will pop-up, select Record.  It will give you the option for Song, Channel, and Session.  Just chose one of the first two and press the button.  You should see a microphone appear at the top of the screen.  It's recording.  Follow the same steps to stop the recording.  Setting up a recording session is self-explanatory once you get into that screen.
