Horn has stopped working on my 2006 Ford Explorer. The fuse seems to be fine. What could be the problem?

Horn in my 2006 Ford Explorer has completely stopped working. It does beep when pressing the keyless entry to lock it. We've checked the fuse and it seems that there is nothing wrong with it. Any idea what else could be the problem?

I would suspect an underhood fuse, the steering wheel clock spring, or a wiring problem. It's cheap to triple check all the fuses. The other two will require some troubleshooting to figure out. Since the horn works with the keyless entry, the relay, the horn, and its control wiring seem to be ok.

SOURCE: 2002 Ford Taurus keyless entry

if it was factory installed theres usually a fuse in the fuse panel whereever that may be...replace the fuse with the same voltage as the other one says. but if the fuse isn't in the fuse panel its most likely under the hood, to the right...hope this helps. =)

SOURCE: keyless entry won't work

I have a 1999 BMW E46 I have had a problem with the keyless entry myself. I brought the car to BMW Dealer and they told me that my Lock had an issue and that they need to repair some wiring wich would cost me $1,023.98 to find out that it was a fuse that burned out. I have replaced the 5 amp fuse with another one but it burned the fuse again so I put a 10 amp fuse and i have not had a problems since. In my car is fuse # 54 if Im not mistaken. But waht you can do is open the fuse box which is located in your glove compartment look for a diagram that shows you which fuse is where it will give you a fuse name a number where the fuse is located and how many amps fuse it is.

SOURCE: Keyless Entry and Remote

I have had this problem take you drivers door put your key and un-lock from the out side with key (NO) then open the door push un-lock from the inside button and then set from you remote and it should set if not push un-lock then lock and then do the un-lock with the key. Let me know if that works. what my car did was locked from the inside and I had the problem were it would not work till I un-locked from the out side plus I had to go to radio shack and change the battery from the control.
Hope good happens.

SOURCE: need keyless entry code for a 04 an 99 ford explorer

On your 99 model the module is located behind the left quarter trim panel,mid-way.You maybe able to see it by removing the speaker cover or the cupholder on top. The module will have a sticker with a 5 digit code.
On the 04 the model is behind the right quarter trim panel toward the front about even with the right rear door stricker.

Ford explorer with horn not working at all not even keyless entry and fuse is fine

The horn itself is often the culprit. They can be temperamental. Easy way to check is to run 12V directly to the horn and see if it works. If it does, and the fuse is good, look to the horn relay.

Horn stopped working in my 2006 ford explorer. there is no fuse panel inside under instrument panel. fuse panel under hood isnt labeled. help

There is a fuse panel inside the vehicle. I gave you a picture os its location. I believe but don't hold me to it that you need to remove the bottom panel of the dash to see it but it is there. The fuse for the horn will be in the number 14 position and should be a 20 amp fuse (see diagram of fuse layout below). I hope this helps and good luck.

My horn wont stop honking

you should have 2 fuse blocks, 1 under the hood and 1 inside vehicle near drivers side door or under dash on drivers side. anyways the fuse number for the horn is fuse number 10, however, i am not sure which fuse block this fuse is in, i think it is the inside the vehicle fuse block.

Where is the horn located on a 1998 ford explorer

The horn is usually between the radiator and grill Assembly. The fuse is in fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side. Look at the lid and it shows the fuse placement and there use.

My horn on a 1998 ford zx2 has stopped working. The fuse is fine.

The horn(s) burn out very easily, also there is a relay, press the horn button repeatedly and listen for a click noise (it may be under hood), if you don't hear it the relay may be at fault, if you do the horn is burned out, not uncommon.
