My 2nd gen nexus 7 tablet won`t charge

Tablet was used until battery was dead and placed on charge, however it wouldn`t charge, so I purchased several new chargers, but it still won`t charge. The last charger purchase was a nexus orginal one

If the USB port is becoming worn and no longer works, you can purchase the USB port and solder it on the board to replace it or replace the whole board, which is more costly and prevents you from needing to solder anything.

This, unfortunately, is a common problem among Nexus users. It appears the USB port becomes problematic and prevents the phone from charging. Rather than tinker around with replacing the port, there is a simpler solution. Try purchasing a wireless charger as suggested in this article: Cure for the Non Charging Nexus 7

SOURCE: Charger port not working

I wouldn't mess with trying to fix it. There is probably a loose wire and short of soldering it there is little you can. Call the manufacture and have them warranty it for you. It is covered for one year: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2662734?hl=en

Nexus 7 tablet not charging

Had the same issue just two months after buying mine last year. It must be a very common fault with these tablets. I think you may just be covered for one year, but go back to where you bought it and they can either send it away to be repaired or fix it instore. It is something to do with the charging connector inside the tablet being loose. Since it is not a big 'repair' to fix, they surely should do it free of charge.
My son-in-law, who knows these kinds of things, says that it can be repaired easily be anyone who can open the tablet corrrectly.
Good luck!

Nexus 7 tablet flashing white light

Hello,
I am very familiar with this problem with the 2nd gens and it is almost always a sure sign that the tablet is not getting enough power to charge up and will not boot. Sometimes this can happen from the tablet not getting used for a while and getting completely drained. The other possibilities are A) the USB charging port is becoming worn out and won't charge or B) the battery is no longer holding a charge, much like a car battery in the winter. Get an original Nexus 7 wall charger and leave it charging through the wall outlet and not a computer, this has more power. If the light is blinking, it makes me think the USB is not the issue, so chances are after an hour or two it will have some life again.

How do i reset my nexus tablet ?

Hold the power button down continuously until it powers off. You may need to keep it pressed for up to 15 seconds. Wait 30 seconds for any residual electric charge to dissipate and then power on again.

My nexus 7 tablet fails to turn on.

Plug it in to give it a full charge. Push the on/off button and hold it in until it turns on. It may take about a minute. I had the same problem with my Nexus 7 because I let the battery get too low and it would not turn on.

My nexus 7 will not turn on and its only a week old

You may want to try and do a hard reset/reboot which will hopefully bring the Nexus 7 back to life.

  1. Press the power button and both volume keys for several seconds. The computer screen will eventually blink off. Continue to hold until you see the Android recovery logo and the large Start selection at the top of the screen.

  2. Move the volume keys up and down to see the menu selections. If you don't want to factory reset, you can try to Power down or to Restart bootloader from these selections. The power key will select the option.

Hope that helps!

My google nexus 7 wont turn on

Sorry to hear/read this.
First, try get a new charger and plug your Google nexus 7. Suspect a dead battery with no charge left on it.

Otherwise, confirm your charger isn't just lighting up whereas it isn't delivering any charge current to your device.

Next to try if your ac charger is confirmed good is to attempt replacing the battery; at the store, have them insert a compatible/similar battery and then try power on your device.

NOTE:
New batteries at the point of purchase have some charge on them; sufficient to power on your device.

Device not power on, DON'T PURCHASE NEW BATTERY. Obviously, you don't have a power/battery problem.

Device power on, then you either have a battery that has failed or that your device's charging port needs to be serviced or repaired.

Please post update/feedback asap. Thanks
