Watching my LG 42PC1R Plasma tv,when suddenly screen went blank(no picture at all). Sound still good but no pictures. Open the back cover and check, tested and found one of Y sus board's fuse (FS2)blowed. Then changed new fuse on the Y sus board FS2 and try out. After changing, now try to switch on but click sound and green led came on but almost immediately another click sound heard and green led keep blinking with no sound and pictures.Keep trying on /off but same issue. Then I remove the FS2 fuse and then the sound came on good , but still no pictures. Put FS2 back again, no sound and no pictures again and green led keep blinking. Can someone please help and advise possible issues ? Thanks in advance. :)

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.

This is almost certainly the device that sends electricity to the the plasma in the panel after failing. Bring to your local repair shop and expect to pay 300-400 parts and 100-200 labour.
Cheers,
Stephen

Most likely what happened is one of the capacitors went bad. When a capacitors goes bad it produces a popping sound. This could be an easy and cheap fix if you find the bad capacitor or capacitors. The bad capacitor will have a bulging top most likely on the power board but could be anywhere.
