Runs but no suction. Something is clogging airway inside the machine

After the extensive checks you have carried out. May I respectfully suggest you check all your air filters, as a 'clogged up ' filter will produce the same kind of symptons as a blocked pipe. There is a very strong possibility that a filter on the machine is clogged and that's what is casing your problem

I presume the motor is running, take the front brush roller off and check the fan is still intact. Possibly broken fan.

I will list the spots to check this vacuum for clogs. First see the first diagram I uploaded.

1. First thing is to remove the canister.
2. Then you will see in the diagram "A." Press that button and pull the hose up and check for blockages. Make sure to check for light through the hose to guarantee no blockages.
3. Now tilt the vacuum forward and pull out the U Bend Airway and inspect it as well (3rd pic in diagram)
4. Now squeeze the valve release catches to remove the airway and inspect the valve for blockages. (4th pic in diagram)

1. The diagram above is the pre motor filter many forget to check.
2. Press the filter release catch and pull the filter housing out.
3. Remove the filter.
4. Wash real good and let dry completely.

• Now the one thing that tends to go bad on these vacuums is the automatic air flow adjuster. When the vacuum is upright the pathway for suction is automatically on the wand. After some good use the little disk in there snaps and the air flow stays restricted in what ever position the vacuum is in. I have contacted Dyson a few other time and they do not sell this part. It is a factory fix only or I would give you the instructions to do it yourself.

Something between the bag and the suction opening is clogging the vacuum. Start at the bag. Remove the bag and check for a clog. Remove the hose from the back and check for clog. Release the handle and turn the machine over to expose the sweeper bush. Check for clog. If you haven't found the clog at this point, remove the 4 screws on the brush cover. Then remove the brush and check the hose going into the machine. If the filters are clean the machine should have plenty of suction.

well, it actually sounds like there is a blockage. Try removing your hose and dropping something through it, like a quqrter. If it comes through, no clog. If it is clogged, I believe that machine has a blower on the upper part of the cleaner (maybe in the bag compartment towards the top. You can take out the filter holder and plug the hose in there and run the unit . Does the blockage come out? If not, Try shaking the hose, or you can put a stiff wire in it to try to free it. Do not run water through it. If there is no blockage at all, then you will probably need to take it to a service center. But I am pretty confident that we are looking at a clog situation. You have a clog somewhere in the vacuum. Check the hose and the little trap door on the underneath side of sweeper.
Does the brush turn? If not, then the belt that drives the brush is broken. Replace the belt

#1 i assume u checked the bag and filter if so equipped?
#2 verify the hose is not plugged
#3 verify hard plumbing not plugged by taking something metal (quarter) and crossing the 2 little metal nubs at inlet (don't worry it is low voltage u wll not get shocked) it should ****
#4 if hard line plugged you may need a second vacuum to reverse flow
are all outlets not creating suction f so detach vacuum from piping and verify that vacuum is not the problem

Your vacuum is clogged. Check all of the air pathways, hoses, etc. The most common places to check are anywhere there's a joint in the airways, and also directly behind the brushroll.

If the 2 stage filters inside the bin chamber have not been washed then they will need to be - they sound like they are clogged or somewhere there is dirt which is blocking up the system. Also check the side part duster to ensure that the airways are not clogged with dirt.

When you turn the machine on, have a look to see if the moving brush is actually spinning. Then switch off and remove the base plate to see if anything is clogged in the main dirt channel which is usually located on the left or right hand side - where the dirt goes in from the floor.

This model is based on an Electrolux model in the UK which can be notorious for clogging dust. Check the hoses at the bottom where they come from the main dust bin and the air ways to check no dust is stuck.

Something must be in the hose causing a clog, take the hose off and if suction is good where the hose hooks up, then there is something caught inside the hose.
