Hoe long have you had this tablet? The fix may not be one that can be repaired without opening the case. But I would try a factory reset first.

Try the following: 1. Check if the on/off button on your touch pad is turned on. 2. Restart the computer by pressing ALT+F4 until you get a shut down screen and then using arrow keys to scroll to restart. 3. If still not working, try reinstalling your touch pad drivers from the disk you got with your computer (connect an external mouse to do so, if not introduced to keyboard shortcuts). have you tried the soft reset yet?
take out the battery and let stand in freezer (put in plastic bag to keep out moisture) for 10 mins.
hold down the switch key wich is right above the escape key on the left side of the screen. and hold down the power button till she turns on. once you get the usb symbol in the upper right turn it back off and it should run like normal.

I think the pen has gone bad on you, since your screen can still detect your hand and the track pad. I would think the pen is faulty. Try another pen cause I think your original is bad, if it was the touch feature that wasn't working I would say its a driver problem but that feature still works with the exception of the pen. Get another pen.
