It screws on to the tank. Make sure to relieve water psi. Turn the water off first.

The fittings screw into the tank. The heat itself slides into the fittings from front to back. Unscrew the metal bracket from the head and the entire head will slide off the tank away from the pipes.

Mark 49 Culligan softener what timer settings do I need to refill brine tank.

To set the timer on a Mark 49 Culligan water softener to refill the brine tank, you will need to consult the user manual for specific instructions. The manual will provide information on how to set the timer to control the frequency of regeneration cycles, as well as the amount of salt that is added to the brine tank during each cycle. If you no longer have the manual, you can contact Culligan or check their website for a downloadable copy. If the brine tank is not refilling enough after cleaning, it is possible that the brine tank float may be stuck or damaged, or the water level in the brine tank may be set too low.

My softener is a Culligan Mark 89. Water looks clear but is real salty. I bypassed the system and purged the lines to get rid of the taste.

Call Culligan for service. You have a serious problem as it sounds like your resin bed is not going through the backwash cycle before returning to operate mode.

Normally when your water softener goes through a recharge cycle, a solenoid operates to bypass the system while brine (extremely salty water) is drawn into the resin tank to perform the ion exchange process. This is a timed process. Once it completes then your softener switches into backwash mode where the resin bed is flushed with clear water. Finally at the end of the recharge cycle the softner switches back into normal operation.

This is not something that you can fix yourself. Contact Culligan immediately.

Need a seal kit for a Culligan Mark 89

Your local Culligan dealer is the only place to get one. You need the retrofit kit to prevent the shaft of sealpack from bending.

If you are looking for a parts manual that may be almost impossible as they are very protected.

Have mark 89 and water is going into salt tank, w...

That depends on what part of the cycle water is going into salt tank. If it is the last cycle (refill) it is normal until the proper water level is reached. If it is any other cycle then the brine piston or sealpack needs to be replaced.

Proper Disposal of a Culligan Mark 50 Water Treatment Tank?

If you disassemble the valve completely (all metal parts) the valve itself is delrin plastic and is recyclable along with the brine tank. You may be able to scrap the softener tank. You will have to get all the resin and gravel out of it. Just tip it over take the inlet manifold out and drain the resin into a bucket, take the resin to culligan for disposal.

I have had salt in for 3 weeks culligan mark 89 is not recharging

If the unit will recharge then you might have what is called a salt bridge in the tank. The salt is stuck above the water level in the salt tank. Poor a gallon of water over the top of the salt and see if you can then break it up. The salt should go down then.

Most Culligan brine tanks have a lifetime warranty.
