If your TDK NX-4CD has no volume and the CD door does not open, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check the mute function: Make sure the unit is not set to mute. Look for a dedicated mute button on the unit or on the remote control and ensure it is not activated. If there is no dedicated mute button, check the volume controls and settings to ensure they are not turned all the way down or set to minimum levels.
Reset the system: Perform a system reset by disconnecting the power source from the TDK NX-4CD. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet and leave it unplugged for at least 10-15 minutes. This will allow the unit to fully power down and reset. After the waiting period, plug the power cord back in and test if the volume issue is resolved.
Check the speaker connections: Ensure that the speaker wires are securely connected to the appropriate terminals on the back of the unit. Sometimes loose or disconnected speaker wires can result in no sound. Additionally, check for any visible damage to the speaker wires and repair or replace them if necessary.
Clean the CD player mechanism: If the CD door does not open when pressing the Open button, it could be due to a mechanical issue. Gently clean the CD player mechanism using compressed air or a soft cloth to remove any dust or debris that may be obstructing the door's movement. Be careful not to force the door open to avoid causing further damage.
Seek professional repair: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it may indicate a more significant problem with the internal components of the TDK NX-4CD. In such cases, it is advisable to contact a professional audio equipment repair service or contact TDK customer support for further assistance. They will have the expertise and specialized tools to diagnose and repair the specific issues with your unit.
It's important to note that attempting any repairs or disassembling the unit yourself may void any existing warranty and could potentially cause further damage. Therefore, if you are not comfortable with electronics repair, it is best to seek professional assistance.

Check the speaker/s. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. System needs to be rated for less than half the OHMs the speakers are rated at IE: 4 OHMs vs 8-16 OHMs.
So, ya can't use 2-4 OHM speakers with a 4 OHM capable HI-FI or the system transistors will burn out and turn to the whole thing to junk.
Yes, the speakers are louder cause, the speakers are drawing more power than the HI-FI is capable of or built for. See "OHM's Law"
Also, the Speakers and HI-FI are wired for -/+
OFF or ON; DO NOT CROSS THE -/+ OUTPUTS!
So, IF Negative speaker wire
goes to Negative output on the HI-FI
...Where does the Positive wire go?
The NAXA NX-142 came with a miniature CD you must use the CD to install the software called AMV converter to your computer. Then run the AMV converter with the NX-142 plugged into the USB port. You can then convert certain videos like WMV files into AMV files which can be automatically uploaded to the NX-142 be sure to choose to upload the videos into the MOVIED subdirectory to help keep things organized on the NX-142 The AMV converter will allow certain settings to be selected. The manual is helpful but the printing is so small that I can't read it even with glasses. Good Luck
