Don't. Unless there are some really big specks of dirt inside the lens then they will have no effect at all on picture taking. To prevent the problem getting worse always store your lens with it's front and rear caps on and inside a lens bag. Also make sure that your camera bag is clean and isn't shedding fibres from the inner linings.

Dismantling your lens to clean it is really a job best left to a professional who will then additionally check and clean/lubricate the moving parts inside the lens.

How to my fix my CD player

Hi , Have you tried to clean the dust off of the laser lenz ? Some of those CD cleaners will work for you if you are not inclined to take the unit apart and clean it yourself. I think radio shack still sells CD cleaners ?
tip

The reason their is no blue color in you projection screen picture.

Over time the Blue CRT in your projection screen produces a thin layer of fungal growth over the top of the tube. This attracts dust particles and as they collect they blocks the light from getting to your screen. This seems to happen with only blue CRT's. To clean it remove lenz and use a damp terry cloth with a water and bleach solution. Wipe the convex part of the tube untill it is free of all dirt and fungi. Replace lenz and get ready to enjoy a very sharp picture.

Will not play. message is Dirty Disc.

If this player has been used often you may need to run a cleaning disk thru it.It is just a CD disk with little brushes glued to it.This is to brush the dust off of the optical pick up lenz inside.I did have a sony 5 disk that conked out after 3 years and was very seldom used.Well hope this helps and good luck.

Press play and get err messages

You could try cleaning the lenz for the lazar p/u on the inside with alcohol & a Qtip.. ie small circle lenz..

If that doesnt work - then most likely the lazor p/u has failed..

Hope this helps !!
Pleaase rate me good ;o)

Not scanning properly

Hi

This sounds fairly typical of dust, grit or gunk on the scanner "lenz". Could also be that some of the components of the "lenz" have failed or been scratched.

If the unit is still under warranty return to the place of purchase for a replacement. If not and you are totaly bored you could disasemble and give the "lenz"strip (thing wich provides the bright light a bit of a clean with metholated spirits and a lint free cloth/tissue paper. However concidering how inexpensive scaners and multipas's are these days you may be well served just to replace the unit, I know for people from my generation this sort of sticks in our throats because we remember when cheep in the computer industry was measured in thousands of dollars, now it's not just plug and play but fail and throw.

Hmm spend a couple of frustrating hours on a dubious repair or spend one or two hours overtime enjoying myself and get a brand new beastie.

Kind Regards.

My cammra wont take pics and the lenze wont go down, i droped into the sand, got all the sand off of it though.

Dropped digital cameras are usually dead digital cameras. No matter how careful you are sand and dust can get inside and raise havoc with the internals.
