Hi,

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

SOURCE: my ipad is disabled how do i fix it

Try connecting it to iTunes, turning off the ipad, then hold both the lock and the home button for 10 seconds, then relese the lock button while continuing to hold the home button until iTunes recognizes the iPad. Then you should be able to reset it without problem.

SOURCE: IPad shuts down itself

It seems that you've already tried reset (holding the home and power buttons, right?) the iPad and it does not work.

So you may need to connect your iPad to your computer and do a factory restore using iTunes.

SOURCE: how do I unlock a locked up ipad?

If you've got a locked up iPad app or otherwise misbehaving iPad, and want to reboot / reset your iPad, simply hold the sleep and home buttons together until the iPad restarts.
You'll see the shutoff slider come up first, but just keep holding. The screen will go blank and the Apple logo will reappear as the iPad reboots.
Note: this does not reset any data on your iPad. This is just a restart, equivalent to rebooting your computer.

SOURCE: On my new iPad 3, when I push the home button to get out of a program, it does not work. I push & hold and nothing happens. I have rebooted the iPad several times, nothing. What should I try next.

It may be a hardware fault, what I would do is given that it is a new ipad take it to the local Apple Store and they will either replace it and have it repaired.

Can't get my iPad to turn on! Have tried pressing the button for a long time, still not turning. What else should I do to get started?

In order (stop if one works):
1. Recharge at least an hour from power adaptor rather than USB computer lead.
2. Reset by holding down Sleep/Wake button on top right of tablet while at the same time pressing down home button. Keep both depressed 15 seconds. If slider appears or screen dims, keep pressing till Apple appears.
3. Restart (display not working) by pressing and holding Sleep/Wake button till power off slider appears. Drag slider to right. Wait 2 minutes. Press and hold Sleep/wake button till Apple appears.
4. Recovery Mode. With device powered down, hold sleep/wake button down and drag slider to off position. Then plug USB into a computer (do not have usb cable connected to iPad yet) running latest version of iTunes. Hold down Home button while plugging USB cable into iPad. Keep Home button down until Connect to iTunes appears. If does not appear, start Recovery Mode procedure again. When Lightning cable, arrow, and iTunes appears, release Home. Click OK to restore to factory defaults (erases data). Restore data from earlier backup. (Summary of method from Phone Cruncher site.)

The touch screen in my Ipad stopped working. It works to unlock or to shut a screen but that's all.

Try restarting it: hold power button down until "slide to power off", power off for 10 seconds, press power to restart.
if that doesn't fix it, reset your iPad: hold BOTH power button and Home button until device resets and apple logo appears.

How to reboot an iPad, a video clip is stuck on running

Rebooting is easy. It is called a hard reboot. Just hold both buttons down until you see a red slider, and then slide it to shut down. It will restart, and you will see the Apple logo.

How do I unfreeze my Apple ipad air ?

It's actually very easy, once you know how to do it. Click and hold down the Sleep/Wake button (located on the upper-right corner of your iPad). While you're holding down the Sleep/Wake button, hold down the Home button as well (located on the front of your iPad at the bottom).
Hold down both buttons until your iPad powers off. It will reboot and start again with a small silver Apple image on the screen. It takes about 30 seconds for the iPad completely start up.

My ipad is stucked.

This tutorial will explain how to force your iPad to restart if it gets stuck or freezes up.
Forcing your iPad to restart will not cause any loss of data - with the possible exception of any work you were doing at the time the iPad and/or App froze, forcing you to restart it.

Can't connect mini iPad to my wifi my other iPad is connected

Always a good idea to shut down and then turn back on (hold down both home button and power button until it turns all the way off. Wait a couple seconds, then press the power button to turn back on)

Try wireless again.

If nothing, then

Obviously check and make sure wifi is on under settings.

If still nothing,

Try resetting your network connections:
Settings > General, then tap Reset > Reset Network Settings

If you can't see any wifi networks at all, you might have a bad wifi card in the iPad. Bring back to an apple store.

How do you reset an Ipad? It's stuck on Itunes and won't reset.

Step 1
To reset the Apple iPad you should first locate the power button. This is the button on the top right corner of the iPad when you are holding it like a book, with the narrower sides on the top and bottom.
Step 2
Once you have located this button you will need to simply hold this button down for about 3 seconds or until you see the red slider icon (a red rectangle with a white arrow facing toward the right) come across the top of the screen. The slide area or the area to the right of the button will be labeled Slide to Power Off.
Step 3
If you want to just reboot to iPad you can do that by touching the red slider button and sliding your finger along the slider area toward the right side of your iPad. The iPad will automatically start shutting down, it may take it several seconds depending on the amount of space you are using on your iPad and the programs you had running when you requested the reboot.
Step 4
To turn the iPad back on or restart it after you have shut it down just press the power button (remember that's the button on the top right of the iPad).
