HI
It sounds like you have a drain issue. You can do a test with the unit on open the panel with the board and remove the 2 pink leads and make a jumper for those terminals. If the unit comes on 3 min fill then circulating pump and compressor and fan come on then you know you either have a kink in the drain line or a bad pump. If your unit doesnt have a drain pump then the pink lines could be open and it will turn the unit off too.

SOURCE: Melded mass of ice in bin

your unit could be cascading water into bin..make sure baffle in the back is on..if you put your hand in bin where ice falls..youll feel a considerate amount of water falling...make sure your keeping door closed...just turn off..bout half way full..see if it makes a difference

I don't have the service manual for this model without having to purchase one but I have a link to Whirlpool Service Manuals which is very much the same when it comes to diagnostics. There are several reasons that may cause this problem as you described. They are water control valve sticking causing warm water to continue to flow over freeze plate and stopping ice production. A defective condenser fan or a very dirty condenser coil. Link to Whirlpool 15 inch and 18 inch Ice Maker Service Manual Link to a site where there are information and answers for most model ice makers HERE You can contact this person at the bottom of the page, Thanks Sea Breeze

Emerson ice maker not freezing ice, making small cubes and they are soft and mushy.. seems to not freeze ice solid and takes forever to drop ice

When was the last time you cleaned it by running ice machine cleaner through it. After a period of time algea, or slime will form on the chill plate where the ice is made. Sometimes its invisible to the eye, but it doesn't mean its not there. When this happens the machine will freezse the water, and when the ice tries to slide forward to the cutting grid, it catches on the chill plate. There are no sensors in the machine to tell it that this is happening and so the machine moves forward and starts running more water across the plate, which in turn runs across the ice caught on the chill plate melting it and using it as a ramp to fall into the bin melting the ice there as well. So, try cleaning it before taking any further steps, then if the problem persist feel free to get in touch.

It is time to run a ice machine cleaner through the unit, instruction should be on the door. When you get a build up is causes your ice to bind to the evaporator plate and cause this problem. Most ice machines require cleaning every 6 month to prevent this. Use nickel safe cleaner only, and most of the time this will correct the ice binding on that evaporator plate.
I hope this helps

Water is leaking out of ice maker and freezing up where cubes are

Sounds like water valve is not closing all the way after the icemaker calls for water. This is because sediment in water builds up on valve seat therefore letting water pass through. Suggest replacing fill valve. Crescent shaped ice....ice maker on needs 4 ounces to fill icemaker, so any more than that will spill out.

GE Monogram Ice Maker makes ice, unit doesn't cool enough

This model Icemaker makes ice by flowing water across a freeze plate. It is located in the top of the unit behind the white cover directly below the ON/OFF/CLEAN switches. After freezing a sheet of ice it releases and slides to the cutting grid. It then drops into the ice bin and begins to melt and the whole process starts over again. The level of ice in the bin is controlled by the high level sensor on the right side of the ice bin. It is a whit tube with two wires coming out of the top. Without this sensor it can overrun the bin capacity. Bottom line this unit does not freeze ice, it only holds it like cooler does.

Doesn't fill up

sounds like the ice is not releasing from the freeze plate before the waterpump comes back on. you can turn off icemaker - dry the plate with a towel - take fine steelwool and go up and down on the tray until all discoloration is removed and the plate is shiney - empty bin - flush plate and bin - turn back on and see if ice falls onto cutting grid either right before or right after waterpump comes on.

Amana side by side ice dispenser leaking water

Take the ice maker out and look at the mold. If the coating is flaking off then that is where it is leaking. Will need to replace the ice maker.
