SOURCE: I NEED THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING THE CHIMES/TIME ON MY WESTMIN

Manually turn the minute hand forward until the 16 westminster chimes sound and then the hour strikes. Then remove the minute hand (it will go on in four positions) and put it back on at the 12 o'clock position. The chimes should now be back into sync.

Howard Miller Christopher Quartz mantel clock chime adjustment

Try pulling the batteries out, set the clock to 5:45 then put the batteries back in. Set the time to 6:00 and count how many times it strikes. If it strikes 6 then your good. If it strikes a different number say 5, take the batteries back out, and set the clock to 4:45 then put the batteries back it, set clock to 5 and count the strike. Most quartz clocks reset their chimes to 5:00 when new batteries are installed regardless of the time shown on the face. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

I just purchased a Heritage Mint Ltd Timepiece Quartz Regulator wall clock but it chimes two hours slower than the actual time. Need to know how to correct it. There is a red push button on the back of...

I have the same clock. Here's what I did to re-set it after changing batteries: After replacing batteries, use the turn dial to set the correct time. Press the RED button 6 times, wait for it to go through that series of chimes, then press the button again to set the time.
Example: Press RED button 6 times. Wait for it to chime. Press RED button the correct number of times for the hour to be set. For 5:00, press the button 5 times, etc.
I lost the directions to my clock, and I am posting this from memory and also just had to re-set mine and it works OK now.
Hope this helps!

I have a quartz president wall clock, I changed the battery and set the time OK but the chime needs setting and I have no instructions as it is a very old clock

These are general quartz wall clock instructions as I dont know enough about what type/style of clock you have.
  • Open the access door to the dial and hands of the clock if required. Some battery-operated clock movements are sealed inside the clock case with a back panel that is screwed in place. To gain access to the hand set knob, remove the back panel screws using the appropriate tipped screwdriver.
  • Turn the minute hand (or turn the hand set knob at the rear of the movement if access is available) carefully counterclockwise or clockwise until the correct time is reached. Keep in mind that using the hand set from the rear would require turning the knob in a clockwise direction in order for the hands to turn counterclockwise.
  • Move the hour hand carefully with your fingers near the center of the hand to the hour that the clock is striking if the striking chime is not counting the correct hour. The hour hand is a friction fit hand and will move without engaging the minute hand.
  • Replace the back panel and tighten the screws with the screwdriver if removal of the back panel was necessary to access the hand set knob.
  • Close the front access door if required.

Tempus fugit westminster mantle battery operated clock has 2 buttons under an H and 2 buttons under an M. how do I set the chimes? Amy Howard

I had the same problem but the solution is unbelievably simple. Just set the hands to the time desired by turning the round button on the housing. Now you mmust tell the quartz timer/clock (plastic rectangular mechanism) the same time as you have set the hands. In this way when the hands hit the Quarter hours/half hours and the hours, the electonic chimes will chime the correct time.

Ultra simple. The two hour buttons and two minute buttons represent a 24 hour clock. Example, how to set the clock to 2:50 PM. Easy, change the 2 PM to its 24 hour counterpart, i.e. 14 hundred hours.

Move the hands to 2:55. Push the first button once for 1, push the second button 4 times, push the first M button 5 times, push the second M button 5 times. Move the set button back to run and there you have it. 1455 Hours. Not it should chime correctly. As a tip, use a brand new fresh battery to try this out.
