The Crank Position Sensor dirty or cracked can cause all of this...your parts store should be able to help you locate...not to expensive...hope this helps.
The mechanic should check on the idle .Because the Idle of the truck is adjusting by it self . That causes the truck to stop .check the Idle then lock it up to so that it will not adjust until it will make the truck stop .the main reason why the truck stop and pressure guage going down steadily is that no fuel enters the fuel pump when it adjust Idle by it self . It adjust by closing way or blocking the fuel to pass and go to the engine.then the engine dies .
sound like intake leak. get a scanner to see if egr valve not staying open . check map sensor + make sure the vacuum line didnt come off it . check coolant sensor. oxygen sensor .check fuel pressure regulator. check vacuum line that goes to fuel pressur e regulator . make sure there is no gas in it. make sure its getting vacuum. check pvc valve.shake it make sure it rattle .
