Hello Friend, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

If you are receiving an error code F7, it usually indicates that one of the surface burner switches has failed. This is not a typical DIY job. Before reaching out to a professional, let's attempt resetting your Frigidaire range. You can do this by unplugging it or flipping your circuit breaker into the off position. If the error persists, in that case, a certified technician would generally replace the faulty part after proper diagnosis. Hope this helps! - Z

SOURCE: oven will not work

First look to see if the ignitor is coming on. Most common problem is the ignitor is weak or just bad. When the power is applied to the ignitor it glows and builds up resistance to open the gas valve then it lights. If the ignitor is weak or bad it will not build up enough resistance for gas to come into the burner. One sign of this would be a "woosh" sound when it trys to light. If the ignitor is coming on but not lighting it is most likely the ignitor is bad. Should have a full glow. Also, if the ignitor looks whiteish in color this is a sign of it going bad. You can compare to the broil ignitor to be sure. Let me know what you find and let's solve it before you rate the solution.

SOURCE: while using kenmore 790.9621 smooth

It appears your Ignitor has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Testimonial: "Thanks for your answer. I've been upside down with this thing! I put a new 4 prong 40amp cord on it and it looks like it solved the problem. Thanks "

Kenmore elite electric stove. model 79099013102. Intermittent starts beeping then flashing "F7".

The "F7" fault code could mean a stuck or shorted key pad/console or it could mean a failed oven control board. There is no way to reset the control.

A service technician would determine if the problem is with Key Panel/Console or the Oven Control by: See image below.

NOTE

: This is intended for the service technician. I do not recommend attempting to diagnose which one has failed. This test must be performed while connected to the power supply.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range

GE Profile Gas Range oven turns off

I just read that the electronic panel malfunctions due to rear burner use. Now, I know that mine gets REALLY HOT in between the back burners (where the heat exhaust for the oven is) whenever I bake/broil. I am guessing that it can cause the same malfunction fromt he oven, as with the backburners. Whenever I use both back burners, mine shows F7 E6, too. Unplugging it for the night or just waiting til the beeping stops and then clearing it works... until I cook again. I read that the replacement part for the control panel is about $300 and another $200, more or less, to install it! I think this is more like a recall or manufacturer's problem. I have read plenty of complaints and I think GE needs to make a call to fix them!!

Kenmore Gas wall oven flashes F7 Code

Hi Indy2008,
You can find my solution to the most common cause of the F7 problem at the following link:
http://www.fixya.com/howto/h155060-dreaded_f7_error

I have helped over 1600 folks solve the F7 problem. The problem is usually with the touchpanel and not the ERC. My fix tells how to determine which part is faulty. Hopefully you will not need to purchase a new touchpanel, however, if you do, an internet search will lead you to lower cost sources.

Please let me know if my fix works for you. You can email me at:
