Determining the cubic feet of any given appliance, Microwave, Oven, Freezer or Refrigerator is quite simple.
Follow these steps.

Open the door of your microwave and measure the length, width and height in inches of the interior cavity.
Multiply the length by the width by the height using a calculator to get the total in cubic inches.
Divide the cubic inches by 1,728, which is the volume of a cubic foot. The resulting number will be your microwave's measurement in cubic feet. You can also use an online conversion calculator to simplify matters

Hope that helps

SOURCE: Ge Microwave space saver over range working but

It is a good possibility that the stirrer has failed. In the top of cabinet is a round cover,there is a small round plug in the edge of it,pry plug out and put it in safe place,rotate the cover < twist locks > gently let it down and stirrer will be either setting on cover or still attached. If you notice any damage< it is a round aluminum disc that is flat > then you need a new one. If you don't see any damage put it back in < put in hole and turn until you feel it line up with shaft and push into place,< gently >.Make note of position and put cover back on < stirrer does not lock on shaft so you have to hold it up until you get cover under it in most cases. Run a short cycle and remove cover to see if it turned at all. If not the motor is bad < turns stirrer during operation>. This is the first time that question has been asked of me and it is the only thing that I can think of if it heats glass and not food.

SOURCE: GE JVM130K004 space saver microwave not working

The magnetron is overheating, and the magnetron thermostat is tripping, interrupting power until it cools back down.

This is to protect the magnetron from being destroyed from overheating.

It may be that the internal cooling is not occurring or the magnetron is failing. Cooling can be compromised by:

- failed or failing internal cooling fan
- blocked air inlet or filter
- outer cover not installed correctly

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, & testing.

I want to replace an old microwave from 1988: GE Model# JVM130001. What microwave will fit in that space?

Laura, most any over the range microwave should fit that space. It may hang a little below your height but that should not be a problem.

I Bought An Old Kenmore Space Saver Microwave. It Doesnt Have A Manual. I Dont Know If It Can Go Over Top Of Electric Range Stove. I Dont know How To Install It. So What Im Asking Is How Can I Tell If It...

One quick way would be to look on the top of the unit. Do you see empty screw holes where the screws going through the cabinet above it will go through and screw into the top of that unit? If no open screw holes on top of unit probably not an over the range model. Also, look under the bottom of the machine. do you see feet??? Or just aluminum screen vent filters. If feet and no filters probably a counter top unit.

Code on the space between oven and microwave

It's normally about 30", but that info will be in either the installation manual or the owner's manual, depending on the brand you choose.

You mention SpaceSaver, that's GE.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

Size of older GW Microwave

If you want to calculate the volume of an object and have the answer in cubic feet.

Volume=Length X Width X Height
With the dimensions you give
Volume=12.5in X 37in X 20in
Volume=9250 cubic inches

To convert 9250 cubic inches into cubic feet you need to understand that there are 1728 cubic inches in 1 cubic foot.
L X W X H = 12"X12"X12"=1728 cu in

You then multiply 9250cu in and (1/1728cu ft) Really you are dividing 9250 by 1728.
your answer is 5.35 cubic feet.

12 inches in 1 foot
144 square inches in 1 square foot
1728 cubic inches in 1 cubic foot

to convert you put the unit you want to keep on top of the dividend.
to conver to to feet ( randomly selecting 100 inches)
Example converting 100 inches to feet

100inches X ____1ft____ = (100/12) = 8.3 feet
12inches

or cubic inches to cubic feet
4000 cubic inches to cubic feet

4000cu in X ____1cu ft____ = ( 2.33 cu ft)
1728 cu in

if you notice that the units on top and bottom of the dividend cancel each other out leaving the numerator (top number) as your unit.
it also works in reverse

2.33 cu ft X ___1728 cu in____ = (4000 cu in)
1cu ft
