How do I fix my Sharpe 70" LED TV? I only have a blinking power indicator in a pattern.

The TV will not turn on. The power indicator light blinks in a pattern- 2 long followed by 5 short blinks. I tried unplugging and holding a variety of buttons when plugging back in. The TV is about 19 months old. What are my next steps to correct this?

depending on the make and model of the TV, the duration of the flash and number of flashes determines the error code.

Thank you Much. I called SHARP for service code reading with absolutely NO help. Was told to call a service tech. I can fix this and at least know what to look for.

The picture on my sharp aquos tv will not display. The power light just flashes and the tv remote and power button will not turn on the screen. Menu on both will not work either

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Blinking codes details of many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

When I turn on my HL-T5687S, the screen remains black and there are 3 dots on the lower right hand side of the panel?

My TV is (same model is doing the same thing). The manual shows that the 3 blinking lights indicate "LED may be defective. Please contact a certified technician."

Note: When I power my TV off (unplug) and back on, the TV's left indicator light is solid for less than a second ("Stadby state") then the right light blinks ("The picture will automatically appear in about 15 seconds") for about 15 seconds. This pattern is repeated numerous times (I think it was 5 times). I believe the TV must be failing some power-on test. Aftere failing 5 times it gives LED may be defective indication.
