Why is there no response from my starter?

have you tested the starter. that is the first thing to do. use a hot wire from the battery to the starter to make sure the start even works. then if its okay then either you have a bad wire or a bad switch. if the clutch is not pulled the starter wont work.. if the kickstand is down for some bikes it wont start.

Is there a way to test the motor on the 6v peg perego john deere e tractor.

  • Yes you can. You have to disassemble the tractor to expose the motor. When the motor is exposed you will take a couple jumper wires and bypass the pedal switch by going from the positive on the battery to the positive on the motor and the negative on the battery to the negative on the motor. Have someone lift the rear end up just enough to get the wheels off the ground and let them free spin. If when the battery is fully connected to the motor the wheel starts spinning the motor is good. If not then the motor is bad. Make sure to use the actual tractor battery only. Also make sure the battery is fully charged so you get a good diagnose on the motor. If you are unsure if the battery is charged then use a multi meter to check the voltage of the battery and make sure it reads 6volts before going to test the motor.

  • Here are a couple links to help you get to the motor.

I think my starter motor has gone? my car wont start unless i pus it and kick start it in gear. Is it the starter motor gone or battery playing up??

hi...

both may be the reason for not starting.

11.please check the terminals from the battery, wires and all in good order.then check the volt comin to the starter motor if the volts are correct then the problem is with the started motor. please service or replace with the new motor.

2.if no supply is comin to the motor terminla then ther is a problem with the wires.the wire is damaged so no power goes to the motor.

3.if the voltmeter/multimeter reads less reading then the problem is with the battery.the charge is not sufficient enough to start the motor. please recharge or replace the battery if required.

My heat doesnt blow hot air or no air at all and my left turn signal blins very slow and my wipers work but when turned off they keep going until car is off and door is opened please help i have kids and...

HAVE BATTERY VOLTAGE CHECKED.MAKE SURE BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED IT SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS.IF YOU HAVE DIM TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS.EITHER YOU HAVE WRONG BULBS OR POOR GROUND ALSO THE WEAK BATTERY OR UNDERCHARGING PROBLEMS HAVE ALTERNATOR CHECK OUT. FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR.CHECK FUSE AND RELAY. IF BOTH GOOD YOU HAVE A FAULTY AC + HEATER CONTROL SWITCH.OR THE BLOWER MOTOR IS FAULTY.REMOVE BLOWER MOTOR HOT WIRE IT USING A JUMPER WIRE TO BATTERY.IF IT RUN YOU HAVE SWITCH OR WIRES TO SWITCH PROBLEMS. IF BLOWER MOTOR DONT RUN.REPLACE IT AND BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR.NOW IF WIPERS KEEP WORKING WHEN YOU TURN THEM OFF.YOU HAVE A FAULTY SWITCH OR DEFECTIVE LIMIT SWITCH IN THE MOTOR.

84 CK TRK, 2500, 5.7L 55,000 miles have replaced alternator twice - battery still reads 12 volts. Trickle charge on battery OK and engine starts up OK - terminal 1 on alternator wire (brown) reads 2.4volts...

On some of the older style GM's you can take that brown wire and cut it and take the end leading from the alternator and hook it directly to the hot terminal on the alternator and just leave it hooked up and it will work. But I have ran into the occasional problem where leaving it hooked up will drain the battery when the vehicle isn't running. Hope this helps..

Power window on the front driver side won't roll up. Is there away to test the motor, switch and relay to determine which is not working?

To test the switch, find the hot wire to that windows motor. press the switch and see if battery voltage is present. 12.6Volts on a fully charged baterry. If not then the switch is bad. If battery voltage is present try connecting a twelve volt to the motor supply wire. see if it runs. If it don't then you confirmed 100% that it is bad. In my experience the switch seem to go out before the motor. So more than likely it is the switch.
