I dont think iv put my dvd rw in proply i think

have you try disconnecting your dvd rom to your cpu and connect it again? have yo check your dvd cable that connects to your cpu mother board? this are the solution to escalate the problem thanks.

If the drive shows up in Windows Explorer (My Computer) then it is being recognised by Windows XP. Put a CD or DVD in to see if works and you can see the files. If you want to burn DVDs then you need additional software to do this.

check the audio cable & sound volume.maybe its about some hardware problem in the electronic circuits of it,like sound IC & internal sound card

If its having sata connection you can see sata ports on *********** board using sata cable

You can connect any one of the ports. and you need to go to bios and enable the sata ports if its not done already..


If you have a normal CD Drive you can connect with IDE cable.

that wire is for the analog out of the DVD/CD drive it can be connected to *********** board or sound card but is not required because most people use software that uses a digital signal

for cd roms or dvdr/rws u dont need to insatll driver so just connect it as putting the jumper to acurate position if your ide cable is having some thing else connected from before just put the jumpher to slave or else master and put the power connecter and start the pc and your dvd or cd r/rw is ready to rock if u need to use it for copieng or makind data cd please install nero for pc and tostit for mac and u can get thease software by download or buying them..

put hard drive as Master. dvd rw as slave!
if DVD comes with sata then just put hard drive as master.
configure it on the bios setting!
if it still don't detect it
try replacing IDE cable and sata cable!

i thin if u have screwed up with connection u might have screwed up the motherboard is the mother board workig if not ur power in inthe mother have gone dead
