It really depends on the gift card in question. If it is a Wal-Mart gift card (as an example), you can take it into any Wal-Mart store and the cashier can check the balance at the till. If it is a pre-paid credit card, they have a website on back of the card for you to check balances. Most store-based gift cards (Wal-Mart, Target, etc) you generally have to check in store, and most company based gift cards (such as steam, battle.net, etc) are applied to an account and rendered empty afterwards.

of course fixya site will not recognize your id and pass word
simply because it has nothing to do with fixya site
you need to be communicating with amazon and no one else

go online to amazon.com Below the address bar you will see "Your Account" Place cursor over that and choose Your account at the top of list. I'd say for this click on Kindle help home(on right side) Next page click Contact us on the left. Fill in info and request phone call.

Contact Amazon Customer Service.

Thae it to a store that you have purchased before and ask them to check the balance on kindle gift card.
