WiFi dongles are developed for PC usage. A tablet, does not redirect internet info to or from a USB connector. For every USB device you need a driver and a program on a computer. As long as you don't have the programs or app for any dongle, no use to connect any dongle to any tablet.

SOURCE: wifi doesnt work

Make sure you have a very strong signal before you decide its not working. It can say its connected, but if the signal is weak, you still might not connect.

I have a 10" sansui lifepad and the external keyboard is not working. Please help

I am not sure which Version of Life pad you are using. If it is a 3G or just the Wifi Version. If you have 3G version. You can enable the packet data only in the 3G settings found in the Settings to get internet access.

If you only have a wifi Version. You just need to go to Settings then Wifi and select the name of the network to connect and have internet access on the tablet.

Can I use my I pad as a hotspot for wifi or do I need a connection to the internet

You can use your ipad as a WIFI hotspot but your ipad must have internet via WIFI or mobile data. To turn on your WIFI hotspot got to Settings > Personal Hotspot and turn on Personal Hostspot. When searching your device will show as Ipad, Enter your WI-FI Password and any device will now use your Ipads Wifi.

I hope this helps :)

What parts are needed to set up wifi?

That machine does not appear to have any PCI slots, or built-in WI-Fi. You may be able to get a USB 2 Wi-Fi adapter. Just make sure the one you get works with your Operating System. Also, you will have to have a Wi-Fi router to connect to your Internet Service Provider.

Experia x10 looses battery charge so quickly it lasts less than half a day now. Was fine until I connected to internet and wifi.

All phones use more energy when connected to WiFi.
In order to preserve battery life, shut down your WiFi unless you need it.
Find Settings>Wireless and Networks , and uncheck the WiFi box.

I have a android pad and i want to add apps to it but my htc phone is connected to app market

If your pad has a wifi connection, use that to connect to the internet and setup another Gmail account for yourself to use on the pad.
Is that what you were meaning?
I think each device should have its own gmail account.
If you are using 3G and not wifi, then you will be swapping the SIM between the devices all the time and that might become a pain. Also, you will need to login using the different gmail accounts each time you swap it over.

Can this be used as a 56k router? I need to have a temporary internet connection and it is only a basic connection because of the type of phone there is at the house. We tried to connect but I don't have...

The SB4100 is a digital modem that uses cable TV network to provide broadband Internet access, it can't work with an analog telephone line, for this type of Internet access (also called switched Internet connection), you need an analog internal or external 56K modem, and also you'll need a user name and password (an account) from the Internet provider service (ISP) ; for a temporary Internet connection maybe a prepaid cellular modem (GPRS, EDGE, 3G or 4G) USB type could help you better.

How to connect wifi network in archos 28 internet tablet

This is normal. To save energy, the ARCHOS always starts up with the WiFi set to off. You must manually use the Fn-F3 keys if you want to activate the WiFi connection.
I cannot connect to the Internet over WiFi, what's wrong? Make sure that your WiFi is activated. This can be turned on and off with the blue function key pressed down and then the F3 key. The blue WiFi indicator just below the touch-pad will light indicating that it has been turned on.
My WiFi router/modem is on and working, but it does not show up in the list of wireless networks. What's wrong? It could be that the WiFi modem/router is hiding its SSID. This is done for security purposes sometimes. You can either change this on the WiFi modem/router (see its instructions) so that it broadcasts its SSID (and then you'll see it in the list on your ARCHOS 10) or you can go into the advanced settings of the Wireless Network Connection screen to the Wireless Networks tab and 'add' a new connection. You will need to know the SSID name and its other connection parameters.

Internet access with wireless

Hi,

Assuming that your laptop has a built-in WiFi Networking card (or even a USB or PCMCIA WiFi adapter), normally its a matter of setting your Network configuration to "Auto obtain IP address automatically". This could be done in your Control Panel/Networking Connections, right click on your wireless Networking, click on Properties, highlight Internet protocol (TCP/IP), click on the Properties button and tick "Obtain...".

In some instances you might need to key in the WEP or WPA security key if it has been enabled and set in your WiFi router, though it has been known to slow down connections. If on the otherhand the router has its MAC filter enabled, then you would need to add your laptop's WiFi MAC numbers to the list that the router would allow access to.

Should the above be not corrective of your concern, pls post back with the make & model of your router, laptop, and the WiFi adapter if external/add-on. Knowing your Operating System would also help.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
