There are a number of things that can do this. For a top-load machine, an out-of balance load can get noisy. Many GE washers have bungee-cord type straps at the top of the tub to dampen out-of-balance gyrations. If these break, you get a lot of rattling. Other washers (some older Kenmore models for example) have a spring-and-bar arrangement under the tub. If this freezes up due to rust, or something breaks, your washer will bounce a bit. Older Maytag washers may dance around if the baseplate is worn out. In all washers, bad tub bearings can make a racket; you will often have leakage as well.

Squealing normal
occurs due to belt slippage. I would check your belts (look for cracks.
Check the belt tension as well, most washers have an adjustment,
normally on the motor that allows you to increase the tension of the
belt.
If part of a belt gets torn and it is long enough, it will hit any part of the washing machine within range and make a clicking noise at every revolution of the motor.
I am pretty sure you need new belts. You should be able to remove a few screws and open the back cover. Between the pulleys there is a tensioner...loosen that so you can remove the belt easily. replace it with a new belt and adjust the tension.
hope this helps
SOURCE: loud noise during spin cycle
this is my experience repairing the maytag washer Atlantis mav series 9750 aww, I had to replace the spin bearing since it was making a jet engine noise when it was spinning out the water. its not an easy job for my 1st time taking this machine apart, you literally take it all apart to get to this bearing, but now I can show how to do it with pictures making it easier for you to do it. even if you have to replace something other than the spin bearing, this how to tutorial will show you how to get to most of the parts in this machine

Your maytag is really an amana and the bearings are bad. Yes it does cost a lot. If i were you i would buy another washer. Get a whirlpool. (whirlpool now owns maytag)

Remove the front panel and you will see two metal guides attached to the front of the frame. One of them will probably be bent and the transmission assembly will have jumped over one or the other of the guides. You need to manually pull it back to center then straighten the bent guide. May have been caused by load being out of balance or machine not properly leveled. Good luck.

Usually this is due to either the drum support breaking or the back bearing being bad-neither easy to fix- or worth it. Try lifting the drum up and down, if it moves up and down they are bad. I see this a lot, and the price of repair isn't worth it. Craig
Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!
Based off the information you have provided you are hearing a loud screeching noise during the spin cycle on your Electrolux washer. You will hear a certain amount of motor whine during the spin cycle this is a normal operation of your appliance. -Matt
