You do it with lots of parentheses.

Type ((58+2/3)*(18+1/2)*(3/4))/27
Then press MATH button then 1 to get the frac. Then press ENTER. You should get 814/27.

What are 4 different fractions that are equal to 1 1/2

Hi Anonymous,
You can make equivalent fractions by multiplying or dividing both top and bottom by the same amount, but only multiply or divide, never add or subtract, to get an equivalent fraction.
I've only shown the fraction part of your question as 1 is a whole number.
1/2 = 2/4, or 4/8, or 8/16 or 16/32 or 32/64 & so on.
Going the other way, dividing 2/4 by 2 will give 1/2.
But, only divide when the top and bottom would still be whole numbers, for instance you wouldn't use divide for odd number fractions, for example 1/3 or 3/5 etc.
Trust this helps, best regards Alan

How to divide fractions using calculators?

To divide fractions proceed as you usually do with any number. Just make sure to enclose each fraction in parentheses. You may want to remember a simple rule: To divide a fraction by another, multiply the first one by the reciprocal of the other:
(a/b)/(c/d)=(ad/bc)

How to divide mixed numbers?

Probably the simplest is to convert both numbers to improper fractions then divide.
Some calculators can work with fractions. With one of those, simply enter the first mixed number, then divide by the other.

How do u write a fraction on here

Hi,
You can write a fraction by dividing an integer number by another but it will not be displayed as you enter it. It becomes a decimal number.
However, if you want to keep it in fraction form (but reduced to its simplest form) you use the command [|=>Frac] . The arrow is a short, fat one.
To access the command
Press [MATH][1:ToFrac] [ENTER]
Ex: you enter 27/48 [MATH][1:ToFrac][ENTER]
Calculator displays 9/16

So you can keep numbers (in reduced form) by inserting [MATH][1:ToFRac] before pressing the [ENTER] key.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for rating the solution.

Can't find fraction button.

Hello,
There is no fraction button, but if you divide two integers (whole numbers) and want to keep the result as a fraction press [MATH][1:|=>Frac] [ENTER]. If the fraction can be reduced to its simplest form that is the result you will have.
27/48 [MATH][1:|=>Frac][ENTER] displays 9/16
Hope it helps.

Problems with fractions on the Casio fx-115es

Hello,
To convert fractions to decimals or decimals to fractions, you use the [S<->D] key. Each time you press the key the result is displayed in the other format.
Alternatively, If you multiply or divide two integer numbers put a decimal mark at the end of one of the numbers (any one). The result will be displayed in decimal format.

Hope it helps.

Mixed numbers

Proper fraction e.g. 3/5, input 3, divide, 5, =, answer 0.6

Improper fraction, either enter as improper fraction, or enter the whole number first, then +, then the proper fraction as before, then =.

E.g. 8/5 which is "1 and 3/5': enter 1, +, 3, "divide", 5 =, answer is 1.6

Or, just 8, "divide", 5, same 1.6 answer. Why go to mixed number first?

13/5 which is "2 and 3/5", enter 2, +, 3, "divide", 5, =, answer is 2.6. Or, just 13/5, same answer

Enter the fraction for example: enter 8/12.
The answer will be .666666
Then click Math (which is located under the Alpha button).
Click the ->Frac button (the first one).
It should come up as Ans->Frac.
Click Enter.
It should now read 2/3 which is 8/12 reduced.
Note: I have a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, and the TI-84 Plus might not have this function, but that is how I do it on my TI-84 Plus Silver Edition
