THE DVD PLAYER WILL ONLY SHOW "OPENING" BUT WON'T EJECT THE DVD.

Unplug the unit for 10 seconds. Plug it back in and repeatedly push the "eject button" until it displays "opening tray". Take out the disc and put in whatever you like.

hi there,
1-connect the blu-ray to your tv via hdmi cable and this will run picture.
2-connect the blu-ray via digital optical cable to the optical input on the bose system. then using your bose menu, (system menu)set your auxillary sound output to digital optical.
when watching dvd thru bluray player select aux on the bose and you're away.

Problem:
I also have a bose Lifestyle 48, and the same problem has happen to me where the DVD player would not open,
Solution:
Unplug the unit, Wait a few seconds, after plugging the power back in, immediately hit eject so that the player does not have time to spin up and try to read the disc again

You just unplug the cord form the wall for 4 hours, after 4 hours plug it again. The purposed of unplugging is to dissipitate the
stored current in the memory IC so it will gone.

All you have to do is carefully take the top off and clean the "Iris" which is the reader with a little alcohol and cotton swab. Bose will charge $165 plus shipping to do this. Go to website metacafe.com and search how to clean DVD players and it will show a video, easy to understand.
