How to set the vat rate

The North American equivalent to Value Added Tax (VAT) would be Provincial Sales Tax (PST), Goods and Services Tax (GST), or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) in Canada. In the US, it would be state sales tax, as there is no national sales tax, yet;)

What calculator is it for?

Good luck,

Press the CA button twice. Then push and hold down the %/set key until the 0 disappears and reappears. Then type in your tax rate and the percent key (eg: 8.25%) and then press the TAX+ key. It should save the new tax rate. Posted on Feb 25, 2008

Change tax rate oncalculator

Press the [ac] button, then press and hold the [tax+] button for a second or two. Then enter the tax rate you want as a percentage. You would enter 8.25% sales tax as 8.25 for instance. Then press the [%] key to set the rate. Notice that printed above the [tax+] button is "tax rate" and above the [%] key is "rate set" as a reminder of which key to press.

NEED TO SET TAX RATE

Solution #1 has it backward..
(tax rate), STR, TAX+ (or TAX-)
Example- San Francisco sales tax = 9.5% you enter 9.5, STR, TAX+.
now it functions as (amount entered) plus tax. Example- find the total with tax for a purchase of $14.99 14.99, TAX+ Calculator will show 16.41
