As my helper partner states, I quite agree but I would also use a different USB which the one you're using might be damaged, use another USB station cause maybe its also damaged. But if it states that the printer is offline...it will never print because its not selected as your active Printer. Actually you are sending the printing jobs to that printer wich is not active or recognized.
Assuming your talking about an "external" storage device, such as a hard-drive over a USB connection... If the device isn't responding, and ASSUMING it doesn't need external power, and "should" operate over USB (most do)... then it's damaged. If it needed to be formatted, etc..you would get a different message. If it's locking up the computer, and not responding..it's simply bad and needs to be returned. Sorry :-(
hello,
-make sure that the cables from the ext hard drive is properly connected like power if there is and USB
-try other USB port
-try other USB devices
-try other USB cable for that Maxtor
-try other computer
the reason why you are doing that is to know if the USB port is broken of if the ext hard drive is not responding.
cheers.
sometimes you have to plug a usb into these to get them to respond if this does not work try plugging it into another USB port. If this does not work than look at the wires they may have come unattached
Please buy new one, your USB has experiencing permanent Crash on its entire system that is why your computer is always telling you that Not Responding due to failure in installing the complete driver from your USB to be recognize by your system.
If u have warrenty, u will do directly otherwise u have to purchase one external USB Box which contains 4 other USB port Now u have 4 USB ports working fine.
