I have managed to manually open the door on my hotpoint wmud942 ultima washing machine but the key symbol comes back on as soon as I close the door, I have some more problems the washer will run a program but no water seems to come into the machine, I have checked the filter at the front and that's ok. Please could someone help. This all started when my builder moved the drain hose and f05 fault code kept coming on.

I would suggest you fill the washer with water externally up to below the door level and run it in one of the short wash cycles. I would assume it will progress further into wash. This would suggest the inlet water circuit has a fault. I am hoping the laundry water tap was turned on when you were running the washer.

Best to replace the inlet valve and see. Worth spending the 20 quid.

If there is water left in machine door stays locked but if you remove the plug after about 3 mins the door may open be careful if there is water in it when you open the door

My hotpoint ultima has stopped halfway through a wash and has the word door flashing.
It happened on our machine. The soloution to this for me was to take the lid off (two screws). Unplugged from mains. I found the connector to the door had vibrated off and was just hanging loose. Plugged it back in and it worked straight away.Door opens as normal.
Don't forget to look in the manual for how to get the door open in an emergency

you will need to remove the top cover and get a screwdriver to move the door latch over. it's a job for an engineer really as you have an electrical problem anyway.
