SOURCE: Can I Use Existing Venting from Old Water Heater?

Late answer to an old post, but no you can't use the existing vent pipe. The tankless systems require Category III vents along with all the accessories required for your installation. I suggest you use a direct vent model with the concentric vent through the wall. Remove and patch the roof penetrations of the old vent or just abandon and let it remain.

SOURCE: Rheem water heater turns off by its self

Flashing code 76 is lost communication between the remote and the burner control assembly CCA (circuit card assembly). The CCA is still under warranty if purchased within the last 3 yrs. Contact Rheem customer service and have your Mod. and S/N available....explain to the agent you are recieving - flashing code 76...they'll walk you through the process.

SOURCE: Rheem Power Vent 2 water heater is flashing 4

The flashing light is a trouble sequence light. Find your manual to see what 4 flashes means. It's usually attached to the side of the water heater tank. Try a quick fix by unplugging the power vent and see what happens.

Blowing fuses on rheem rtgh 84dv

Call service technician
Check polarity of 120 volt outlet
Call Rheem for new PC board
If the 3A glass fuse located on PC board is blowing, then something is drawing too much current or shorted on board... problem is probably bad PC board

3) Read product manual for power vent specifications.
Keep in mind that power vent on top of heater can sometimes cover access to anode rod located on top of tank.

Rheem water heater flashes seven times ,it is in lock out mode

You have Honeywell electronic gas control valve, and error code is 7 flashes.
Probably you have power vent model.
One manual from different company says: "Reset gas control using on-off button on front of control, replace flammable vapor sensor, replace gas control thermostat.
But with Rheem you also need specific steps: Remove gas burner and look for broken glass vial, and then blow out arrestor screen air intake using compressed air, clean burner parts, check for unobstructed venting, you will need new glass vial from Rheem depending on year and model number of water heater that appears on label on side of unit, or they may not have a repair kit for that model, and you might need a new gas control valve depending on model and how extensive problem was
You have Rheem water heater.http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-repair-Rheem-FVIR.html

Rheem water heater rtg95dvn keeps blowing 3 amp fuses

Not for sure what your root cause was and I know it's a little late but I just suffered this same exact scenario on the same water heater. Storms came through, power went out, power came back on and the water heater keeps blowing the 3 amp fuses now. I removed all the cables and plugged them back in one at a time. When I plugged in the Fan Motor connector the fuses blew. Installed new fuses with the connector out, the Fan Motor was putting out 150 VDC through the connector port (on main control). I pulled the control from the unit and Q1 is visible blown and disintegrated on the control board. Obvious control design issue. I've ordered a new control and will put a surge protector on the heater now when the new control comes in. Very disappointed that this was not caught in controls testing within the manufacturers facility. New control is not very cheap. Half the cost of a new Heater. Hopefully the Fan Motor survived the high voltage with the fuses blowing. I'm putting this here for anyone else that suffers the same issue on this water heater or the Richmond equivalents as they use the same control.
