Nintendo DS Lite will not turn on. When I plug in power cable the charge LED flashes yellow for a second and then goes out. The power LED does not light. I checked fuses F1 and F2 and they check okay. I also checked EM10 filter and that checks ok. I checked power switch and it seems ok. Bottom part seems normally closed and opens when switch is engaged. Top half of switch is normally open and closes when switch is engaged. I have about 3.6V on top terminal of switch. Are there any other components that might cause these symptoms that I can check?
There is a possibility that your battery has developed a short circuit or is so bad that it pulls down the charge voltage on the charger. You are therefore left starved of a power and therefore no function.
If possible, disconnect the battery and run the DS on the charger power alone. If the DS starts to work, I suggest replacing the battery.

This can sometimes be caused by the single smt capacitor on the board in the top half that the screen cables plug in to. Try replacing the cap or the entire board.
SOURCE: DS lite green light comes on, top screen flash, then switches off
The green light comes on... the screen flashes white for a split second... then it shuts off. I don't think it's the battery because the light flashes green
