I have Arcsoft Photoimpression 6 for windows Xp and need and upgrade for my windows8 PC
Windows 8 dont let you use xp drivers but there is a way round it with the windows xp driver file, in the driver file on the windows xp file there is a note pad its the only one that when you right click comes up with install click on the install it will save it to drivers file, then plug in the scanner it will ask for the driver and install it it show come up with a box saying are you sure you want to install these driver click yes and it should now work. if not the data base on update has not instaled the comand line into windows 8 as some are not on the listings.

Unfortunately there is no arcsoft photoimpression 6 or later for mac. All their mac products can be found at the following link, http://www.arcsoftsupport.com/products/mac_software.asp, and as you can see, the only photoimpression being sold for mac is photoimpression 5. Sorry mate

Install the driver for your camera from the manufacturers website.
Once the camera is installed the software will probably find it.
Also check with Arcsoft and make sure your software is compatible with windows 7. It may require and additional driver.

Unfortunately, Arcsoft Photoimpression 6.5 is only supported by the following: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP SP2/Vista.

hmm ok did windows update recently? might be causing a conflict
go to arcsoft and see if they have any new updates
