To enter powers of 10 exponents you have a key marked EE, or EEE, or [*10^x). When used, no 10 should appear on the command line
6.02*10^23 will be typed as 6.02EE23.
To enter powers of any base, you have the general power key. It may be marked [^], [ X^y] or [Y^x].

SOURCE: I have a TI-30XS Calculator

One solution that you might try is to put the scientific numbers in parentheses. For instance open parenthesis, type in the first scientific notation then close parenthesis, next hit the divide key and then open parenthesis and type in the 2nd number in scientific that you are dividing by and then close parenthesis. Hit enter or =. I'm not sure if this will fix your problem, but it is worth a try.

SOURCE: Inputing scientific notation into my calculator

Hello,

1. To convert a number to scientific equation, use [2nd][Sci]
Exemples 12345 [=] screen shows 12345 Then [2nd][Sci] coverts it to 1.2345 ^04 to the power 4.
2. To enter directly a number in scientific notation (e.g. -1.2345 X10^(-65) a very small number) you use the [EE] key 1.2345[+ /-][EE][+/-]65 shows as -1.2345 -65
1.6X10^(-19) 1.6[EE][+/-]19 shows as 1.6 -19

Hope it helps

Casio fx-115ms OR ANY scientific calculator

Engineering notation ALWAYS puts the exponent as a multiple of three (kilo, mega, giga, etc). If you want the exponent as it is, use scientific notation. You can put the fx-115EX into scientific notation by pressing SHIFT MODE 7 and then entering the number of digits you want after the radix mark. Unfortunately there is no way to have the calculator adjust both the mantissa and exponent by anything other than three.

How are numbers in scientific notation entered in Aurora SC150X calculator

Look for a key that is marked EE, or Exp, or x10^x. To enter a number in scientific notation, you enter the decimal part, then press the Enter Exponent key, followed by the exponent. If exponent is negative, you precede it with a press of the change sign key (-).
Once a number is entered there is no special treatment: multiply it divide, or add it.

How do I do exponents on this calculator?

Two keys can be used to enter negative exponents on the TI-30Xa scientific calculator; the [y^x] key or the [EE] key. The [y^x] key is used for all exponents while the [EE] key is used for scientific notation only.
The examples below will demonstrate how to use both keys:

1) Entering 7^-2.

• Press [7] [y^x] [2] [+/-] [=].
• The calculator will display: 0.20408163.
2) 1*10^-3.

• Press [1] [EE] [3] [+/-] [=].
• The calculator will display: 0.001

Depending on your version of the TI-30, you will either find a button with a y to the exponent of x or a button that is the carot (^) sign. you would type (1.0075)^(-240), where ^ is the appropriate button (y^x or just ^).

Where is the exponent key on Casio fx-115es calculator?

To raise 10 to an exponent, use the 10^x function (SHIFT log). To raise e to an exponent, use the e^x function (SHIFT ln). To raise an arbitrary value to an exponent, use x^y (just above the sin key). To enter an exponent of ten, use the x10^x key to the right of the decimal point.

Use the (-) key for negative numbers (not just exponents) instead of the - key. The - is to subtract one value from another, (-) is to input a negative value.

I don't know how to use the calculator enough to figure scientific notations

Scientific notation is a number format that has the following structure (d stands for digit)
one digit decimal mark several other digits [times] 10 raised to power of exponent
d [decimal mark] dddddd...[x] 10^ (-) dd

Here are two examples the last two results. The number of digits after the decimal mark is select by the user depending on the number of significant digits in the data. The exponent can be positive or negative.

In you case, to enter x10^ you press the [EE] key (no 10 is entered) the sign of the exponent and the value of exponent.
